I am thinking about letting go of my 2 MGS3 Snakes(eye patch and Tiger Stripe). In my current situation i will most likely sell them as i have other priorities right now and Toys SHOULD be the last thing on my mind:lol

Guys, have any of you noticed that the RAH Old Snake figure is slowly coming back in stock? Cornerstore Comics currently has the Olive Drab on sale for $130, and Hobby Link Japan has the original (blue) figure for about $202. I even saw the figures at a few other online stores.

Man, the Old Snake figure is anything but limited. Sure, it's a nice figure to display, but it's worth nothing as a collectible. I believe that RAH Old Snake is the only figure in my MGS collection that's actually devaluing over time :lol. NOT GOOD!!!!

Hi guys, just thought I'd chimed in after getting my Olive Drab Old Snake. Question, I thought the Olive Drab is a limited edition, how come it's rather cheap? I got it at cornerstorecomics for like 110USD. Anyway, I actually like the look of this figure, the suit is very detailed, I don't mind the paint job on the face either, BUT it's barely got any articulation, I mean the box says it's got metal joints to hold poses better, but mine can't even do any pose to be held in the first place; for example, I've seen some pictures of him holding his M4 with both hands, I can't even do that with my snake:confused: O well, just gonna pose him standing, hands at sides.
P.S.: What's with the Paper thin knife? it's terrible, he can't even hold it; I gave him Snake Eyes' knife to boot instead.

Hey there! Well, you're right: the Olive Drab version of Snake is limited to only 500 worldwide. The original blue version is also limited. However, both figures garnered a bad reputation (and bad is an understatement) because of their poor vinyl construction and horrible articulation. Many folks who bought one (or both) of the figures, opted to return their figures to the retailers, or resell them on Ebay.

All of that being said, I assume that the figure that you bought was probably returned by someone else.

The RAH Old Snakes, though being limited figures, are certainly not a collectible investment. In fact, as I stated before, it seems that figures are depreciating tremendously in value as time goes on -- most people just aren't interested in buying them. Although I love how the figure looks when displayed, I have no need for something that won't be worth much in the future.

My advice to you - in fact, I implore you, as a fellow collector: If you still have time to return your Old Snake figure, DO IT!

I'm completely insane and love the Old Snake first release. I know he can't hold anything close to an action pose to save his life, and his suit is poorly made but I love him. My suit is in perfect condition and I've got him holding his hand gun (HAVE to find an Operator style gun BTW) and in the other a cig.

Don't get me wrong, being a MGS fan, I really like how the Old Snake figure looks- it is absolutely fantastic when displayed. But, the collector in me hates how the figure isn't increasing in value.

The MGS fan in me hates the overall lack of quality and the "i'm making poop" face of Old Snake.

I'm replaying through MGS now again for the millionth time, takes awhile to get use the controls after they refined them with each game...all my options are taken from me lol. I'm doing a marathon of MGS, MGS2, MG3, and then MGS4 all replayed through again this month. The new intern at work is a big MGS fan and we got to talking about it one day and it sparked my need to replay them again. Just beat gray fox, damn I really want a 1/6th of him....

Woot! This new figure came in the mail a few days ago. My dad still owed me a b-day present so he helped me to get this :lol. Sorry for the lack of pictures, but since the Tiger Stripe figure is uber rare, I seriously didn't want to play around with this guy! :horror

ohh man !! medicom are the best when it comes to MGS !

I need to get a zombie snake but I am not paying 600 bucs for one.

Yeah, I want the Zombie Snake also. I just hope that the release of the Cold War Snake doesn't drive up the cost of the other figures.
