i alternated the leg and joint til it spun in the correct position yes it did stretch slightly but nothing id have worried about. the only figure in the line that has bad articulation is miller, hes embarrassing.

I recently bought this, is it much different from the original game?

My brother has a 3DS, and I played it on his. Never finished it though. It's good and it's MUCH different than the real MGS3. The gameplay has significant tweaks such as the new ability to crouch walk and over the shoulder aiming similar to PW. The menu system has also been streamlined to take advantage of the secondary screen. The 3D effects itself can be STUNNING at times.

The only thing that kills it is the horrible framerate, in which the game struggles to maintain 30fps even during the least demanding sections of the game. Most of the time the framerate drops to unacceptable levels (15-20) and it gets annoying real quick for me.

It's a novel idea, but if I wanted a true portable MGS3, I'd go with the Vita version. Unlike MGS2 (which was a disappointment on both HD consoles and Vita), MGS3 seems to be blessed with a great port, the Vita version barely has any slowdowns and the gameplay is silky smooth all the way. And the graphics on that OLED screen, MY GOD!.

I will definitely buy the vita version as well once I finally get around to buying a vita, but I just got this coz I have the need to buy every version of MSG 3. I tried the gameplay for a bit and the 3D seems like a fun idea. I will probably play it all the way through, but I wonder if the cut out any of the story or cinamatics so it would fit on the 3Ds cartridge?
Hope not

The Snake Vs Monkey and all Colonel Campbell conversations that are tied with it are gone and so is the Guy Savage minigame and the conversations with Sigint, Paramedic, Eva and Zero that follows it. Other than that I don't think they were any story omissions.

Thats ok, not a huge loss(never really liked the Monkey game).
But as long the main story is all there. It Should be fun to play, I havent finished MGS3 for a while so I'm looking forward to it.

Nothing you guys haven't seen before, but here's some slight repose of my PAKs. I've been having this idea that these PAKs, unlike full 1/6 scale figures, would be infinitely better with dioramas. Hmm.. maybe I should go about getting some.

Why?whats wrong with the mgs2 HD version? I always thought that the hd version was better than the ps2 version

Why?whats wrong with the mgs2 HD version? I always thought that the hd version was better than the ps2 version

I've mentioned it before, so here's the bulletpoints:

- While all of the 5.1 Dolby Digital audio in only a handful of cutscenes from the PS2 are intact, the audio mixing for the rest of the cutscenes are cringe worthy, especially for an audiophile like myself. The vocals incorrectly comes out from all 5 speakers, and the Codec volume is not calibrated to synch with the cutscenes.

-The Codec loading times are slower the the PS2 and Vita version.

- Some visual effects are buggy (such as the surface of the water).

-Just like MGS3, the cutscenes underwent an unnecessary frame rate boost, which makes the animation in cutscenes look unnatural. The cutscenes in the original PS2 version ran between 24-30fps with the use of image-blending resulting in smoother motion. Now it looks like a home video movie.

-Some of the artwork are stretched such as the Snake Tales, Basic Actions and VR Missions art.

-The game probably would have benefited from a higher AA than the included 2x MSAA, though I don't know if the last gen consoles could handle it.

Those are some of the issues I had with MGS2. While still a very good port, I can't look past the poor audio mix and I would assume so could Kojima, since he known to be a movie buff.

I wouldn't say the HD edition of MGS2 is better than the PS2 version, I think it's equal. MGS3 HD however, is a different story altogether, it's MUCH better than the PS2 version.

Thanks Pliss. I think I wanna get some dioramas eventually. Come to think of it, your PAK display still has plenty of spaces left right? What say you?

raidens leg can go higher. looks awesome though, would like to see some sort of dio done. dat wud b kewl.

Thanks Jason, I think you of all people is the most qualified person for that! What say you? A Federal Hall dio for Solidus and Raiden? An icy cool lighted base for Solid Snake? A beach party for Kaz and BB? :monkey3 The possibilities are endless!

This isn't a recent pic, I actually changed the order a bit. I might actually take some shots of my newer displays later.

My Raidens are on my night table next to my display.

Bit out of left field but I remember you were a Fatal Frame fan Ryan and I just found out that all the PS2 versions are on the PSN. I'll have to buy them soon.

omg, the federal hall one would be nuts!!!! i couldnt imagine the eeeeeeeeepppppppppiiiiiiiiiikkkkkkkkness that that dio would exude.

That's still a sick display Pliss, I think you, Jason and only a handful of people here have 99% of the PAKs. Those museum poses are awesome! Have you ever though about giving one of your Raidens a more dynamic pose? Say a, Zandatsu pose? :yess:

WOW! I didn't know the FF games are on PSN! Dayum! Thanks for the info! :duff

Btw, if you ever wanna setup a Silent Hill experience let me know. PC is the only way to go.

Yeah! Brilliant isn't it? When I was making Raiden's dio a lot ideas just suddenly came gushing in. I think I know where to go with my future PAK figures. A Federal Hall dio is something I WILL make. :yess:

Yeah I do want to do better stuff with the Raidens. I got a wall mount display recently and when I get another shelf for it I'm going to probably move all the Raidens there and give them all good poses.

I don't know if my lousy PC can handle a Silent Hill :lol

itd have to be pretty big, id say at least 10x the figures size. i recon itd be bigger than rex and maybe ray together.

Nah, I was thinking a small section of the roof and maybe a backdrop of the surrounding buildings. I'm still undecided to use the actual Federal Hall pics of in game shot though.

I doubt your PC would have issues running the PS2 games. SH2's system requirements is virtually a joke to run in HD even in it's time. The same could more less be said about SH3 and 4, though SH3 supports 4K resolution and in my opinion, is still the prettiest game the that generation.

There's a cool site that will autocheck your machine for you called "Can you run it" but it mistakenly labels Silent Hill 3 as "Silent Hunter III".
