Yes but that's not the point is it? it was said which had a better likeness, not which had more flaws than the other.

As i added to the last post the GZ one isn't all that bad, i have the figure myself but the head is not as accurate to the character design as the PW one.

thats still just your opinion...

its the Rorschach effect man, no two people see the exact same thing... which is why its largely personal taste/preference ... look at any HT's thread, people see different degrees of accuracy all the time

Couldn't find one of BB with his hair but the PAK hair isn't right on the GZ figure. Not saying it's bad likeness at all because it's not that bad to be fair.

There ya go. The PW PAK BB clearly looks like him whilst the GZ PAK BB could be mistaken for somebody else. The PW Snake is the best headsculpt of all the PAK lineup with MGR Raiden being second. The rest had terrible likenesses, although that does not make them terrible figures. It's been discussed in great detail throughout the boards.

Is the GZ PAK Snake the better figure? Absolutely- the bigger scale, the mixed media materials and general shelf presence indeed makes it the better figure, but as far as likenesses go, the PW Snake takes the cake.

The same could be said about the Medicom MGS3 Snakes- the likeness is FAR more accurate than the Hot Toys version.

Fact of the matter is that we don't get Snake figures with screen accurate representation that very often, so when we do we all immediately notice.

I must agree with Frank here. I always thought the sculpt on PW PAK resembles the best the game representation, which he made clear at first btw, not arguing its overall quality. But I must say, I prefer the jungle fatigues sculpt over the sneaking suit imho.
Is like that ugly representation from the Hot toys one, he looks like one of my college teachers. Even medicom old snake with proper repaint looks super close to its game counterpart. Glad I skipped both so I wont have to hate because of their flaws
My chips are on that sweet mgs2 snake, hoping to be the first step for a proper PAK, with over muscles and all : D

He does. The sculpt is fantastic. The articulation, not so much.

So does MGS3 Snake IMHO as well.

Pretty clear-cut if you ask me. The PW HS is way more accurate and has the best likeness up to this point.
But to each his own, I guess.

I hope we see something new from MGS other than the Painted TPP BB in SDCC. Capitalizing the hype of TPP has hindered the line for far too long.

I remember the first time the PW figures came out, at the time they look straight out of the game! I foolishly thought things would only get better from there though.

PAK has missed the mark time and time again, and their figures are only getting more expensive. I'm at least glad that they did a good job with Solidus and Raiden (from MGR), though. Here's hoping that they'll do something decent with MGS 2 Snake (whenever it's announced) .

PAK still is weird. I don't know why they're screwing up so bad that new Batman PAK for instance, looks terrible with the face sculpt. Though the Assassin's Creed figures are phenomenal, Edward being the better one with the lack of typical problems. Course being almost $100 sucks.

FINALLY!!!!

My prayers have been answered! Finally we're getting a Sons of Liberty SOLID SNAKE by an awesome company line like FIGMA!!! THANK YOU!!!!!! I have been waiting forever for someone to do a MGS2 Solid Snake!!!!!! Instead, it's constant reissues of stupid Big Boss and that idiot Raiden.

Finally, the TRUE hero is getting some just recognition

I was thinking the same thing. Will have to wait and see how the for the regular ver. face & the tiger stripe bdu paint.
