Well, apparently KONAMI is trying to "win us back", Dylan was right, we're definitely getting remakes, at least of MGS3, sadly, most fans would be content with that, I honestly don't care, but if they make the MG remakes, then great.

I don't go one way or the other in this Konami/Kojima thing, I'll play whatever they come up with, the whole rabbit hole/#****Konami thing left me with no more ****s to give.

I much prefer the PS2 look. It gave it such character compared to washed out CGI. Plus, I hate the "canon" Big Boss face from V and this is a reversed engineered version of that.
Same here, that's the reason I think TTS looks bad, I love pixel Snake too much.

But I don't feel the HD models are too far off except for details, the Boss is the only one that doesn't look like the Boss, the rest is just the result of more polygons I reckon.

Cinematography is.
Video games like MGS were just tryin' to make interactive movies back there.
Graphics are too, they might have not been at first, but the fact that some remained timeless classics is a proof that you can achieve a style and craft art with it.

It goes hand in hand with cinematography too, but I guess the engineering is part of it when it comes to videogames.

The character models are too far away from the intentions of the original.
Plus they went full realism in terms of lighting and backgrounds.
It just looks like MGS3 made to look compatible with MGSV, which is very stupid.
True, but all that could be fixed with filters.

I'd take pixel Snake too over bullet dodging/anti-gravity using Neo Snake any day :yuck

Not to mention, MGS PS1 has 1,000 times the performances of the voice talent in The Turd Snakes. Jennifer Hale phoned in half her performance. Although most of them were fine, it was portrayed so much better the first time.

Preach! It's weird, they got almost the same voice talent, yet the performances are so lifeless and dull.

And Cyborg Ninja is pretty cringe.

I think Hayter and Eiding have the best performances in that game, but of course I prefer their first attempts. Overall, all the little inflections they used in all the lines of dialogue in MGS1 is just perfect in comparison. Cam Clarke wasn't bad, but I think he was a bit too theatrical. And yes, the Ninja was TERRIBLE!

There's so much wrong in the game beyond this. So many dead spots in cutscenes since they have no type of noise or music in the background in some scenes where as MGS1 had some form of music or ambient sounds going on. Like BGM without using BGM.

This long ass trailer roped everyone in, myself included.

I remember that trailer, it got me hyped too, it was all about the cool new MGS2 graphix, but as I grew older and got a chance to replay MGS1 and TTS back to back at a friend's house since I never owned a GC, I realized how bad it was.

A dude named Luis Manuel Rodriguez made this and shared it on the Metal Gear Collector's FB group and I think it's brilliant, I thought you'd like it too.

Yeah, Ghost Babel is just fantastic all around. No self respecting Metal Gear fan should go without playing it.

I had the cartridge until my friend borrowed mine and lost it in a car crash in 2006. Sometimes I give too much slack to my friends. :slap

It's a monumental task to find a copy along with the box at a good price, since the game has become a collector's item. I gave up looking a long time ago and the best way to play it is on a emulator which could be ran on any PC. Or phones.

Theyve managed to crack the Vita, so im 100% buying it. First thing ill is get a gameboy emulator for Ghost Babel. Ive yet to complete it!

I really hope we get a resurgence. I want many many more Snake figures, with his classic sneaking suits!

@Gasper

Indeed thanks for that upload, its some sweet art!

I also owned it but I haven no idea what happened to it :lol I didn't sell it, I think I just lost it :slap

I've tried to play it on an emulator, but it doesn't feel the same, I've been wanting to get a GBA SP for ages and find a copy, even if it doesn't have the box.

I don't mind it because I don't care. What I do mind is every single trailer today must have that flickering black fade out to emphasis how important the trailer is. Please make it stop!

Judging by the dislikes, seems like MGS fans have a tough time letting go. I honestly don't know what they want. The series is done, there's not much the series has to say anymore, so why so angry that the IP owner wants to make a quick buck? Does it insult you? A disgrace to your favorite series?
