Quick Snake sketch. I didn't do every single little detail, it was more hurried than anything, but I think it's alright.

Wow you've really nailed the Snake face. Barely Anyone can do it besides Shinkawa lol. I've been trying for a long time and I cant do it unless I take creative liberties. Very nice work!

I suppose that's natural. I often feel the same. I need to put up my sketches at some point. I'm still on the pen/pad. I haven't put work into my art skills in a long time. I wanna take some live sketch and painting classes and get tablet. I've just been busy putting other things in priority

So I finally got round to playing Peace Walker (remembered I had a multi-system emulator, been playing it on my laptop with a 360 controller)...

I kind of hated it to begin with (you can't crawl?!) but I have to admit it's grown on me. Just finished Act 2 and I think it's shaping up to be one of my favourite Metal Gear games. Shinkawa and Wood doing all the cutscenes as animated comic strips is probably making me biased, though.

Speaking of Shinkawa, you nailed the face :clap

His style's a nightmare to emulate, he has amazingly cool shape language he applies to all his pieces, but uses the absolute bare minimum of rendering to express it. Less definitely is more.

Thanks! Yeah, he doesn't even do any ground work and jumps right into details... with no detail... and then it has detail :lol

He's a one of a kind artist.

I've been working through Figure Drawing: Design And Invention by Michael Hampton recently, doing exercises based on his head construction techniques made me appreciate I've got a long, long way to go before I can just lay out a face, body, etc from imagination like Shinkawa can. He's got scary visualising abilities, almost as good as Kim Jung-Gi.

I don't know how he can plan that out in his head, because it looks completely random. I'm trying to think of what to sketch right now, but my mind is blank :slap

I adore how you did the face on Snake, Pliss. It really pops. The rest of the sketch is just as great too.

*Dunno if anyone made this joke already, but I wanted to do it since the first PP teaser video:*

*Phew! Finally got it out of my system...*

Just started my play through of the series in anticipation for the Phantom Pain. I forgot how fast the original moves. I beat it in around 5 hours and I don't think I ever realized Gray Fox and Peter Stillman had the same voice.

That's still one huge development budget, though - like half of what was spent for Winter Solider :lol. I wonder where most of it went.

What's scary is that Destiny cost like 4 times this :lol

GTA V cost 250 million I think, but I can at least understand that, it has tons of content.
