I finally started getting some time with Peace Walker this weekend. I'm about 10 hours in and I'm really having fun with it, but I just wish there was a way to use a DS3 controller with it. I love how deep the team management is, and I find myself replaying a lot of the missions just so I can recruit for their manpower.

Congratulations on starting the game, bro! :clap I am close to 180+ hours of playing time, and I guarantee you.. It is that addictive. :yess:

Ahh.. That's because they are both pistols. You can carry only one (1) type of pistol. I'm really not sure why they made it that way. :dunno

With the other types (rifles, missile launchers, machine guns), you can carry more than one (1) of the same type.

Yeah it's pretty darn fun. Maybe I'm not far enough into the game, but why can't you carry the Hush Puppy and the 1911 at the same time.

I figured that much, but was hoping that you could carry two sidearms later in the game. Oh well, I'll move on and keep going. How does the co-op work?? I've never used it on the PSP.

I think they made it that way, because it'll be unrealistic if you had to switch pistols when in fact you can use both hands to carry two (2) different types of pistols. :lol

Co-Op is great. There are some missions wherein you'd wish you had a Co-Op partner to complete the mission with. I was only able to complete one of the Extra Ops missions with the help of my colleague - and this colleague was into Monster Hunter 2, and I had to talk him into playing Peace Walker before finally playing with him! :slap:rotfl

I just finished the Cocoon boss battle. That was fun. I'm getting to the point where I need to manage the troops and find some ways to get the mess hall up above 100%. Is there a way to raise the cap above 50 members??

^Unfortunately you can't go beyond the 50 limit cap. You'll have to fire low-ranking people from your mess hall roster, and find some new recruits. I've gotten a lot of S-ranked chefs by using the AP recruit feature.

Yeah, you can't increase the 50-member limit.

An alternative is to carry the Analyzer accessory during missions. This can tell you what the rank of an enemy soldier is, so that you can decide which ones to Fulton and which ones to leave behind. As you progress in the game, you'll find that you'll encounter more B-rank and A-rank soldiers along the way. :hi5:

Try using AP scan :wink1:! Depending on how strong the Wireless signals are in your location, you can pick up some really good S and A-ranked soldiers. The rank of soldiers that you can acquire though AP scanning, varies proportionally with how strong the local wi-fi signals are in your location. So, just go near a hot-spot (or even near a good wireless router connection), and scan. It'll save A LOT of time, and it beats having to replay missions over and over again, just to have a new roster.

The more I play this game the more I want the Play Arts figure, but I really want to hold out for the Jungle Camo version.

~~haha I just read on another forum that someone recommends trying to go to different restaurants/business' to recruit S level troops. He says he has a higher level of success with this than randomly trying to scan in his network. Can anyone here confirm this??

Yeah the pictures of it are awesome, but I think there's going to be different accessories with the Jungle. I hope they include the stun baton with this one. That's the only thing I feel is missing with the Sneaking Suit figure.

Yeah, it works. There tends to be faster internet connections around business areas. You can also try your local Best Buy stores if they have a hotspot available.

What a pain. My PSP typically doesn't leave the bathroom or couch vicinity. I don't want to start carrying it with me to recruit troops into my clan.

Actually, the AP Recruit works well only if you have HIGH Heroism.. Make sure that you aim for the highest Heroism Points for each mission, so that you raise your total Heroism.

I know this, because I have a colleague who likes to kill soldiers ALL THE TIME in his missions, and has finished the game, but when he does AP Recruit he gets crap soldiers (D-rank & C-rank), due to his low Heroism points. :)

I can confirm Heroism points count for better recruits. Also you can keep rescanning the same AP over and over, just you have to wait a few days. That or play around with you PSP clock settings to fool the system.

Does anybody know how to unlock the Two-Piece Bikini Swimsuit costume for Female Soldiers? :dunno

I was able to unlock only the Male Swimming Trunks costume.. And it was a useless unlock, because I don't think I'll ever use that on a mission. :lol
