This is also true. In book one he really did have a classic Neal Adams look. He wasn't drawn as the hulking beast we associate with DKR until book two. I think the cover with him all beat up, and the splash page of him grinning as he goes to face the Mutant Leader is what we remember as the most iconic look while he's still wearing the oval symbol.

But yeah, in the splash page in book one where we see the full reveal, he really is drawn a bit slimmer. In all the pre-production sketches he also looks slimmer and more athletic. I guess around book two Frank just started enjoying drawing him bigger and bigger.

DiFabio.....that's freaking awesome. Thank you for that!!

Maybe it's just me, but I'm still not seeing that PX shade of blue anywhere....it's just too bright and light. I still think the oval symbol figure should have come in PRCC colors as a non-exclusive.

Their first prototype pic showed it that way, after all. (In fact the bat symbol was different from the final design too.)

The PRCC and Mezco Ex. aren't the right shade of blue either. If the PX is too light (it's like a teal), those are too dark (navy blue).

This would be the ideal blue in my opinion,

question

anyone getting runs in the cape it all

doesnt matter much just sorta sucks.. my PX has some

runs? Not sure what you mean. My cape does have some roughness around the edge, and it looks like some parts are wearing thin, but I bought mine used so I'm not that disappointed.

Side-note: both the PX and black/grey can be had for reasonable prices now. Great time to double up on these guys :yess:

Those look great! It's nice to see more of this line I want to buy, sure it's batman again but still good

I'm gonna have like 3 interpretations of this new batman. Hot toys, Mafex, and now this lol.

Well, I got really excited about the Hot Toys armored Batman that I saw for the first time today, but I figured that I wouldn't be able to afford it. Now I see the Mezco version? Great timing, and, yeah, I'll probably be picking that one up, as long as it turns out as good as that teaser looks!

Yeah that's something that came to mind too :lol but hopefully worth it!

OH MY GOD. YES. YES. YES. Buying as soon as the PO goes up.

Edit: wait, is armoured Bats legit? I can't see that photo on the FB page.

A lot of that has to do with Klaus Janson inking Book One. Frank didn't like the more polished feel of Klaus' inking and just decided to ink the rest and have full control of the product from a pencil/ink standpoint.
