Just got regular Batman (DOJ) will open & check it out later, cant believe how armored Batman has skyrocketed in price on ebay! Maybe in a few months the price will drop a little - or am I dreaming?

Yeah the Armored Batman price is nuts, you can almost buy the Hot Toys version which blows the Mezco out of the water for this price :lol

I did pre-order for the right price it and received it, but I wasn't impressed with the result. The only cool thing is that it does come with the kryptonite spear but even so, it's so tiny... I really wonder why I bought this figure, not saying it's garbage, but there's no point, I have almost not looked at it since I got it out of the box, I'm still in awe with the Hot Toys regular version.

I didn't bother buying the regular Batman version though. I have all the Hot Toys figures from this line so far, the armored version was obviously the look I liked the most in the movie, but the figures changed my mind a bit. I found myself liking the regular suit Hot Toys figure the most. It's really the best figure from the year (also absolutely love the Superman, bought it very late, but thanks to a recommandation here, I made up my mind and got it).

The thing is, the level of detail is not high enough on the tiny Mezco format. The material they used isn't even right, the paint job, the overall look... I don't know, it's really too detailed for this scale.

I much prefer the vintage look of TDKR and I'm looking forward to some vintage look figures they are going to release, to me Mezco should stick to old school stuff. The modern look of some figures is just looking ten thousand times better on a 1/6 figure, and Hot Toys are really the best when it comes to it.

Back to the prices, the most insane one remain the exclusive Dark Knight Returns figures (the Dark Blue is arguably the best looking one, but the price is completely fkd up, normally I don't care about that but come on, it's a tiny figure and totally not deserving this price range, right now it's valued around $230 -it does come with a few more accessories than the reg. version, but if I didn't have this figure, I would go for the cheapest one, maybe the light blue one which is the cheapest version), you could buy a brand new Hot Toys for this price, and the rarer white version is valued around $500, completely crazy).

edit: as for your question... Mezco One:12 isn't an extremely popular line yet, I don't know what are the quantities but even with the various restocks of TDKR figures, it eventually sold out completely and the prices went up.<
I can see them restock the Armored Batman in the future but the situation isn't the same as when the line was beginning. They are planning to release a lot of figures next year from very different source materials so I guess their main goal right now is to focus on that and make sure every figure and all their variants all sell out.
Then maybe if like say the Armored Batman is one of the most demanded figure, they will release it, but sadly, as promising as this line is, it's not Hot Toys popular yet.

And I'm not sure this line ever will be, because it's stuck between mediocre figures (Hasbro, Marvel Legends, DC comics, or Neca) and very high-end figures (Hot Toys, Blitzway, ThreeZero).

It's small, it's affordable and it's extremely cute, but I feel the audience for these figures will remain quite confidential and closed. It's not mainstream quality nor is it top hardcore quality.

It's great for what it is at this scale, but it's not the best thing to look for. It could be to some extent though. Like The Dark Knight figure, Sideshow tried it (more or less) in 1/6 format and I'm not convinced (in my opinion). But it absolutely works wonders in 1/12 scale with the material and fabrics they used. Because the suit is so simple that it looks a lot better on a smaller figure.
They should really stick to that. The Knightmare Batman prototype they showed is good for example but... when you have the Hot Toys version of that, why go for Mezco? The Hot Toys one already has buried the Mezco one (and that's really the case for the whole Batman V Superman line and the upcoming Harley Quinn- though that one has the bubble gum.. I dig it, may buy it, but the Hot Toys one looks soooo badass. I don't know, will have to think about it. Could use two Harleys).

I wish they would bring a full line of vintage looking figures from movies or TV shows that haven't been covered in a better way (like their Star Trek line which is phenomenal, don't have any yet but planning on getting them all) with simple clothes (like the green clothed Red Skull, this one looks fantastic) and absolutely not try to step on Hot Toys territory, because unless they hire a better headsculpter and do a better job on the clothing, they will be compared and not look so good.

Like, the Ghostbusters set: that's a great idea because the clothes are very simple, the only complicated thing is the proton pack but it's very much doable.

Let's just keep it simple Mezco and please try to get a many movie licences as you can and try to do it different than Hot Toys. Like: Blade Runner would be a fantastic idea. The main characters and the car, how cool would that look? The clothes are simple and it hasn't been covered yet. Or Mad Max 2. Or other great movies from the 80's that haven't been covered like they should.

Make exclusive figures that haven't been done in a better way before. That's what they should go for (as long as the clothing isn't too sophisticated, in that case, leave that to Hot Toys, it's their territory).

Then again I know I may not speak for the majority, I collect all kind of scales. Some prefer smaller figures, some bigger, I like both. What matters to me is the end result.

I feel Mezco could be the perfect addition to a Hot Toys collection, as long as it's adding new kind of figures that haven't been covered better, that's my point. And right now, they aren't totally going in that direction, but I'll keep my interest for them, this line as a real potential.

Finally got around messing with the cape clips can pull off some great wind cape poses

I got the chance to check out Batman - he is cool, but now I'm really bummed about missing out on the Hot Toys Batman. I was only able to snag an armored Batman. so have to hope for a second round version.

Armored bat prices don't look too bad to me at the moment. The original srp was a little high to begin with tho, but I get it with the diecast pieces and being an exclusive. With that said, anyone got one they want to sell? :p

Eh, I think there are LOTS of people for whom Mezco is basically creating a new market, myself included. I don't collect 1/6 for several reasons, space and budget chief among them. I have the DOJ regular Batman and I think it's incredible. Posability is amazing, as is the paint work. I also have both blue TDKR Batmans, Mutant Leader and PX Dredd. Why shouldn't Mezco make Knightmare Batman? I consider that an automatic buy. It will run me $85 or less shipped. I look forward to all these great Mezco One:12 figures.

the traps on reg bats Bvs cowl is it hard plastic? if i got one with one side all lumpy could i fix it?

The material is highly stretchable, so you should be able to fix it, however if the cowl flap is glued crooked above the insignia it might be tough to fix in which I suggest freeing the glue under the flap from the material and lining it up to the top of insignia because the cowl is a very hard type of plastic that doesn't turn at all.

Use a hair dryer to soften the glued flap of the cowl to release it if you have the issue I was talking about, but make sure you don't tear the cloth material under the flap. :lecture

I totally understand why you would pick Mezco over Hot Toys because of the price and space, and I get your point of view on the "new market" it's creating, but we're not collecting this One:12 line for the same reasons at all hehe.

To make myself clearer: I don't collect all Hot Toys, just the figures I love the most. Sometimes I make exceptions (I did buy all of the Batman V Superman line, though I'm not sure about Wonder Woman since I really don't like the character). But overall, I'm really picky with Hot Toys because to me the real problem is that when you have a lot of those figures, it's hard to make them stick together since they are huge figures with a lot of details. When you go from one figure to another, the materials that are used are very different, so there isn't much coherence (especially when you collect figures from various movies like me, very different tones).

So to me, this One:12 line from Mezco was a chance of seeing a very coherent line even with very different source materials. When you have the 1:12 Spock standing next to TDKR Batman, it's not shocking, because the materials on both outfits are the same, and they both look simple and classy. They belong with each other suddenly. So believe me, I was ready to buy ALL of those Mezco figures had they kept this concept, I would even have bought figures of characters I didn't know. This was a chance to have a real collection of figures that looked like they belonged with each other.

That's why I'm not happy with the choice of designs and materials they are picking with these newer figures. I saw a video of the different Mezco figures to come, and it makes no sense to me. A lot of the newer figures have way too much details on them and the materials used on the outfits are completely different (and look cheap to be honest).

On top of that, some of those newer figures have already been released/are going to be released by Hot Toys, in the best possible way. So what comes to mind when you see that? "Great Mezco, nice figure but... Hot Toys made a better one." I know the price and scale are different but I prefer spending my money on Hot Toys, the gap of quality is just too big.

So, on the Knightmare Batman for example: I feel no need to buy it since the Hot Toys figure is perfect (well almost, not a huge fan of how the coat falls on the shoulders).
The Mezco version just look so cheaply done compared to Hot Toys.. Sure it's not the same size but come on.. the protections on his knees for example, I really hope they're not going to release the final product like that. The knee protections are just drawings/stickers... Couldn't they put solid knee protections? And the tailoring on the coat is poor, it looks like a custom figure.

It will be a pass for me.

It just doesn't look on par with the Dark Knight Returns figures. I mean you can't take anything away from those TDKR figures, they look perfect for what they are and represent, I wouldn't change a thing (except this one thing: I wish the cowl was made of the same material as the cape material, and not being just plastic, but I can understand why they did it, especially since a lot of their other figures have plastic heads so when you have several of them, it makes sense).

The Knightmare Batman, the Armored Batman and some of the figures they are scheduling to release, don't feel like they belong in this One:12 Collection, the models are too detailed, too rich, to sit properly in this collection.

I wish they just went for more simple designs, in the likes of TDKR, Spock, Kirk, Frankenstein... those figures are ace. They kept it simple, sharp, cute, and they all look great together, great taste of picks.
I feel they're overdoing it with more complex figures, they don't look as sexy, and if like me you have the Hot Toys versions, you don't care for the Mezco version.

Collecting both, I wish they stuck to classy, simple figures to complete the figures Hot Toys won't release/or that don't look as sexy in 1/6 scale.

Anyway, I'll just stick to the old-school/retro looking figures from Mezco. It's still a promising line but I can't be the only one to be disappointed by the direction of this collection.

Right now from what I can tell, they are kinda hesitating between new figures to please a mainstream audience (and even then, they completely failed their schedule on Knightmare Batman... Knightmare Batman ain't no Hulkbuster, when they will release the figure, the audience will already have moved on especially with the Hot Toys version released months ago) and a more obscure line of vintage figures to appeal hardcore movie/comic book fans. I wish they stuck with the latest... even if it doesn't make high profits (I'm dreaming I know).

I guess all of this really have to do with how you run a company, and maybe it's also a licence problem, maybe they can't really do what they want and HAVE to rely on newer models from newer movies to make better deals (or any deal at all) and maintain the sales, it could be that.

Maybe their real intention and passion are those vintage looking figures with neat clothing. I mean you can't release Spock, Kirk, Frankenstein and TDKR Batman the way they did if you don't know what you are doing. The guys behind this line are clearly in their 40's at the very least and have a passion for what they are doing. I can't believe those same guys are selling out with cheaper made figures of too detailed models that clearly don't match with their original project unless they don't have any other option.

Something must have happened, maybe the older figures don't sell in as high quantity as they'd like, or maybe they weren't allowed to release the stocks they wanted because someone feared the market wasn't big enough. I don't know, but clearly the line as it's growing ain't nowhere near I expected it to be two years ago, and that's disappointing to me.

I do understand that if you don't collect Hot Toys, then getting those are the next best thing, and you don't have to put all of the 1:12 figures next to each other anyway.. but this is what I'm going for, putting all the Mezco 1:12 figs in the same place, so I'm going to be as picky with them as I am with Hot Toys and I think it's just a missed opportunity. I really would have bought everything had they kept coherent.
But great if a lot of people buy all of them, that way we might get some retro-looking figs once in a while, still better than nothing.

Does anyone know when comic shops will be getting this in?
They do sometimes (mine did) but they sell very fast because they only order one or two copies. Mezco don't produce enough of these toys yet. So far only The TDKR figures jumped in prices ( and also The armored Batman but this was expensive for what it is) but the rest of The Line has very reasonable prices you can easily get them on eBay.

So are we still expecting Comicbook inspired Superman and The Flash to drop this month?

And also lets start some toy fair speculation.........Robin, Nightwing, Huntress or martin Manhunter? Who do you expect to show up in the February Toy Fair?

I think we'll see Wonder Woman from BVS, but hopefully a comic version too. Reckon we'll see some JLA mainstays too, GL or Cyborg. I want to see Lobo most of all from the DC side of things though.
