Amazing body of work... I have to say many of your pictures blur the line between 1/6 and reality. Awesome stuff!!!

Re: MGBB Custom Works *COD Update on Page 6*

:clap:clap Amazing work my friend :clap:clap Your figures are top notch - and the presentation of them is mind blowing :panic:
Thanks so much!

There is it! Soap - the best figure you've ever done for me mate, still love looking at it to this day.
Soap is also one of my most fav figures.

Thanks! I do think the photoshop CG's are part of the 1/6 hobby that I am doing. Just so much fun to do.

Re: MGBB Custom Works *COD Update on Page 6*

Do you ever use an airbrush or is everything done with paintbrush? I'd love to see pics of your painting area. :monkey3
I only use paintbrush. Never used an airbrush. This is my work area:

Re: MGBB Custom Works *COD Update on Page 6*

I am so glad to get a message from Joel Emslie, the lead character artist on COD4 / MOD2:

Hello,

I was the lead character artist on COD4 / MOD2 - modeled Soap Price Ghost and others. I'm a huge fan of kit bashing and model making which is how I stumbled onto your website and BAM there they were. My guys all meticulously realized in plastic down to every detail!! Your work is so solid I felt I had to tell you myself and give you a proper nod. Keep up the amazing work. Im at a brand new studio now but hopefully my next set of work will catch your eye and be worthy of a kitbash;)

Cheers,
Joel Emslie

That meant a lot to me.

Price_Cover02.jpg

This is the first time I am involved in product prototyping. The sponsoring company is Loading Toys (LoadingToys). The character of this prototype is an 22nd SAS Regiment member which is inspired by the Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare video game released in 2007.

The SAS team, lead by Captain John Price, appeared in a number of episodes in the game. The idea of this prototype was based on 3 of the missions: "F.N.G.", "Crew Expendable" and "Mile High Club".
Price_Ref01.jpg

Using the same prototype base figure, I developed 4 characters: Captain Price, Gaz, Sergeant Carver and Private Griffen
Price_Ref02.jpg

Photoshop CG

"F.N.G." - This is Mission 1 of the game. Soap (the player) was going to see Captain Price for the 1st time and Price said, "What the hell kind of name is Soap? How'd a muppet like you pass selection, eh?"
Price_CG02.jpg

"Crew Expendable" - This is Mission 2 of the game. Price was his team was riding on a helicopter at night to approach a cargo freighter in Bering Strait.
Price_CG01.jpg

There was a lightning storm when the team boarded the freighter.
Price_CG03.jpg

"Mile High Club" - This is the epilogue mission of the game. A team of SAS members were in an unnamed Special Air Service operative battling through a double-decked aircraft to rescue a hostage.

The Prototype Figure

Only one figure body was created. I further customized a few variants with different heads and weapon to make the team.

Captain Price's head is a re-painted Loading Toys Primo head.

Gaz's wearing gas mask with customized convex lenses.

Sergeant Carver's goggles are sticked with a thin layer of silvery material at the back of the lenses.

Private Griffen is just like Gaz without the helmet.

Price's Head
The Loading Toys Primo head is a pretty good choice for Price. The quality of the original head is decent. The skin finishing is a little glossy to give some sweaty look. I enhanced the head by repainting the eyes, adding heavier shading to the wrinkles and dry brushing some brown highlights to the beard.

Great work mate. The loading toys figure ended up looking great!

Love the look of the convex lenses on the gas masks and the silver goggles. :clap

Another Modern Warfare 2 figure. This is based on Makarov in episode "No Russian". Special thanks to Loading Toys for sponsoring the head sculpt.

Head Sculpt

The quality of this LT head is pretty good. The details are fine and the factory paint job is decent. The enhancements I have made are repainting of the eyes and also adding heavier shading to facial details.

Re: MGBB Custom Works *COD Update on Page 8*

I don't know these video games, but what you've done looks pretty spot on to me. My only comment would be that I noticed an LT-2009 on his vest in the game capture, have you thought about trying to recreate that on your custom vest?

Ross, good spot! I didn't notice that until now. Yes, I will get that fixed. But let me find the accurate vest first. :lol

Some of my older work back in 2006...

Falcon_Cover.jpg

(This is an entry for Crowinghorse's Sci-Fic Group Bash Project.)
I bought this Falcon Z1 last time when I visited HK. This figure is not really something new. I came across it a few times but hesitated to buy as I dislike the head sculpt and also the bad articulation of wrists and ankles. But I indeed like the design of the jet suit so finally I made up my mind to buy it and did some fine tuning.

CG Corner:
I'm not digging too much into the ZMDC story line. Maybe a few things I have some personal ties like the location is Hong Kong and the design of some character resembles ancient Chinese warrior.

I quite like this scene. The temple is Wong Tai Shin.

Re: MGBB Custom Works *COD Update on Page 8*

Bashing:
To improve articulation and body shape, I swapped the body with a Cool Girl 2.0. The head is from Catwoman repainted. This head is a little bit smaller so it fits perfectly well in the helmet. Arm armors are from Takara Jinro. Leg propellers are cut from the original and put on CYGirl boots.

Re-painting:

Weapon Mods:
To match the future feel, I used some model kits of Armored Core. The size fits quite well to 1/6 use. The only modification I have done is to replace the handle and trigger from other 1/6 guns.
