true but imo doc is fine the way he is, why not just be happy not for accuracy but changing things on a hi price tag figure just seems odd

True... there will be a method behind the madness I would of said some particular reason why they got lengthened just have to see what they look like in hand .. Maybe the pics rainman did are making them look bigger than they are camera veiw and there really to scale with the figure

The length of the new boots does make them look a bit feminine, like women's prairie boots. Maybe in hand it's much better.

I think the material used on the boots can be cinched down a bit. Maybye that was Rainmans intention, so that the boots would look worn in, but no doubt that they are pretty high.

I don't know guys. Looking at where I think the knee breaks, the boots are just a little beneath it. The pic of him sitting in the chair, has him in different boots then what he is wearing when he is walking with his son. Looking at the prototype the boots look to be almost mid shin, which would be too short. At first look I felt the same as what's been talked about, but now I'm not so sure.

Yes I have popped the blu ray on today and like you I am now unsure. Its hard to actually see from the new pictures where the knee cap actually is and the proportions between top of boot and the knee cap.

I'm pretty sure the boots switched between scenes, from before the quail hunt to during and then after... Could not be inaccuracy on Rainman or bad viewing on our part, could be a prop error in the actually movie?

Yea I realized after I posted that I wasn't sure if these were the same boots although the look pretty close. At a better glance, it does seem that they are different and the ones in the pic where he is sitting are shorter.

But even the 2nd pic shows that they are about mid shin/calf. And BB pics pretty much show the same. Anyway you slice it, there should be a fair amount of space from the top of the boot to his knee.

I was definitely worried about the height as well. Been trying to contact rainman about it. But now judging by this screen shot, they look pretty damn close to me. So I'm happy with the height now.

Sorry should of been more clear there I meant when they receive there hatless head sculpts that are not oiled but will be getting them painted oiled
