That still requires a custom outfit and probably a differant head with more matted hair. Basically you'd only need a RM unpainted head if it were somewhat compatible.

You just remove the suit jacket and that would be damn near close :dunno

I am sure a talented artist like Seb could make the hair look matted without a variant hairstyle sculpt.

That should have came with the Dude like it was supposed to.
I wonder if he wasn't just referring to that keychain in hindsight, and the language issue created confusion. . .but yeah, Dude was so light on accessories anyway, it didn't seem like it would have been a huge burden to add it. But alas.

Yea but your kinda wasting money to go for a full figure then, you'd never use the coat, the jacket, the hat, the gun, and you'd be ruining Rainman's art by essentially splashing it with black paint.

Personally based on that pic you just posted, all I need is an unpainted head. :peace

I am pretty sure rainman will not entertain the oily upgrade for more money scenerio. I think he likes to keep things straight forward and simple.

If you want oily maybe you could be sending a pm to artists like Elvis etc and have your version modified?

I would probably be out then, I understand and respect folks who take their figures further with additional customizing, but I'm weird about that kind of thing. If I'm dropping $800 for a figure, I cant make myself drop another $200 + shipping to another artist to make it work for me.

I know some folks disagree but the quail hunting version to me is 'guy in a suit figure'. I know his outfits are intricate but I don't see them as costumes or things that couldn't be bashed from 1/6 vendors.
Figures like Tyler, Bill, Alex, etc all feel like 'costumes' to me, you can't just cobble these together easily. The oily look is what makes this guy, this guy IMO.

Whatever RM decides will be great, and if I'm out on this one, no big deal, I just hope the guys like Wofford get what they are looking for, I know the feeling of seeing a grail come to life. Bill is my grail, so I've had my moment :)

Well if the oily version is the only way for you then yes that might make sense I don't know.

Of course it does, no need to pay an extra $200 for Rainman's paint if your gonna paint over it, its not like once he's oily you can go back and add the overcoat, hat, jacket, and shotgun and still have it look right. In the long run I can get the figure I want for probably around $150 so it's all good.

I hate to burst bubbles here but the oil outfit isn't the same as the quil outfit covered in oil sans the jacket.

Yup.

Wofford, you're the most passionate about this figure, which outfit in your opinion is the definitive look that makes this an instabuy for you?

Jeeeeesus.

I desperately want Rainman to announce another project that I have interest in.

Well if theres gonna be a hole for it to fit into, I can't imagine displaying him without the pipe and having a hole present, so I'd say just glue it in.

I would imagine it to be very subtle and hard to see under the moustache. I think that may pertrude a little over the top lip covering most of the hole :dunno
