Ok pretty exciting news potentially!

Rainman has been working on Milkshake Man for fun today. He showed me these two images.

There is a possibility of this being the next figure after Pee Wee.

Would be nice to see what you guys think? I am fairly certain that it will be a major hit but nice for Rainman to see the interest.

Very nice. For a split second I thought it was Friedrich Nietzsche. Anyways I never seen the movie but I might check it out.

Just watched parts of the movie. the oil scene cloths look the same as these just minus the jacket and ad a tie.

I wonder if Rainman has reference for the boots? I looked a few years ago- zip. I could take some screen grabs.

I really hope this goes through.

So, I guess the oily one should be the second sculpt for DX.

An Oily DX head with a clean suited body doesnt make sense (if thats what you are saying?)

The clothing, arms, hands, all of it would have to be covered to some level to make sense. Even if DX was the only way to get oily, it would have to include 2 of everything that is dirty, hands, sculpt, body, boots, etc etc. Seems to make the most sense that the regular fullset it all oily.

WIll be fun to see if this evolves into a real release though!

:exactly:

It will be one or the other. There is no way on this planet will we get a 2 in 1 deal on this, not even on the DX. That would cost an obscene amount of money and time needed would be obscene also.

That's why I still stand by my idea of upgrading your set.

- All oily may exclude folks wanting clean.
- All clean may exclude folks wanting oily.
- Oily effect costs RM money to do.
- Offer all sets clean, with an upgradable option ($100+?) to have yours weathered.

However all that goes out the window, if the figure gets made and he chooses one of those outfits not relevant to the striking oil scene. So Im probably talking out of my butt here. :)

Im telling you, after seeing RM's Bill bloody version, I would have plopped down extra cash on the spot to have mine done that way as an upgrade. It's a win win, you get what you want, and RM makes extra cash for his extra work. :)

Cover him in oil and I may have to get one, without it, I'm not remotely interested. Just my 2 cents, again for me, the oil immediately conveys who this is from across the room in my collection without a need for people to read the movie's name off the baseplate.

Basically right out of your avatar would interest me the most.

Not a bad idea, though like you say, the figure would have to be non-oil scene specific. So, his hair won't be mussed or anything like that. Still, I think it might be the best solution to appease most potential customers. Or, he could just do the "clean" Plainview.

BTW, bowling pin accessory, please. . .and maybe a bowling ball, as well, for my Dude.

Bowling Pin doesn't work if he's covered in oil, and the option doesn't work for the reason you've all already pointed out. Two differant outfits. Great idea for Bill, doesn't work here unfortunately.

I am pretty sure the version we will get is the Quail Hunt look with hat, gun, accessories.

Talk of DX coming with hatless sculpt.

I am pretty sure rainman will not entertain the oily upgrade for more money scenerio. I think he likes to keep things straight forward and simple.

If you want oily maybe you could be sending a pm to artists like Elvis etc and have your version modified?

That still requires a custom outfit and probably a differant head with more matted hair. Basically you'd only need a RM unpainted head if it were somewhat compatible.

Here is the sculpt with pipe :drool

Will update the first post also with this picture.
