Super Freak
I probably said this already, but the comedic aspects in this one felt a little out of character but I did enjoy the hell out of the Fiat chase scene.
Oh my yes. When they swapped seats was next level genius.I probably said this already, but the comedic aspects in this one felt a little out of character but I did enjoy the hell out of the Fiat chase scene.
Looks like I'll be seeing this on the big screen tonight after all.
I hope they keep making these until Cruise is 80 and we can finally see him time travel.Good, interested in your review, although I believe it will fall along the lines of everyones.
I absolutely loved it and thought it was fantastic in every way.Good, interested in your review, although I believe it will fall along the lines of everyones.

Seriously. It totally blew DOD away and is probably my favorite M:I movie. It felt much more like the original than the latter two entries and I cannot wait for the next one now. It would have been a damn shame to have missed this on the big screen, glad I saw it!
Just rewatched the original movie for the first time in ages, and there are so many things I had completely forgotten about. Like the fact Jean Reno and Emilio Estevez were in it, or the ridiculous makeup disguises they put Cruise in that shouldn't have fooled anybody. Or the fact he just looks super obnoxious in every scene. Lol
I did really like how often they played the TV theme though. It's such a kickass theme that it's a shame we only hear it now during the opening and closing credits.
The music, cinematography and editing were just fantastic. Cool characters on both sides, high stakes, lots of fun action and even humor. The audience was really into it, just a thoroughly entertaining film.Thank you for being the only other sensible person in this thread. I loved it as well
Well the fun in the airport sequence was all in the interplay between Cruise and Atwell, and in trying to outwit the US agents chasing them. Don't think we needed any more than that. And the whole thing with the train cars crashing down one by one felt pretty clever and new.Tom's running was particularly on overdrive in this movie.
I liked the movie better as it was happening then when I thought about it later. I mean, most set pieces just happened but with little action -- the airport kept building but then just ended with that crazy shot of Tom running on the roof... the club, nothing really happened (and Pom just left her sword/cane behind which I thought was weird)... and the train sequence did everything you could do on a train, but nothing really stood out as a 'topper'.
Then there was the stunt that we've all seen for over a year in ads. The Big Stunt. And it takes Tom 10 minutes of screen time to get to the bit we all know is coming. That all could have been cut down A LOT. And of course, the Big Stunt culminates in one of the franchises most cheesy, ridiculous "rescues" of all time. Yes, you're right, this movie is really funny at times.
What the hell???Thank you for being the only other sensible person in this thread. I loved it as well
