That is a great figure. I'm very tempted to put one of those together one day!

Thanks. I was talking to Tony Meis and he said he could rustle up a Superman upper suit long sleeved Tee(No need for a whole superman suit if it's going to be hidden under a suit and shirt) for $45 shipped.
It might be the route i will go if i do another one.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I promised myself to only purchase Batman Hot Toys due to restriction from over spending from gf on my costly hobby. However, seeing Reeve's Superman lately on this thread almost brought a tear to my eye. He really reminds me of my childhood days watching his films.
Dammit, I don't know what to do. Shall I give in??? Is he worth the scolding???

Very much so. Or do what I did. Told the mrs it was 2nd hand and cheap. Lol.

It's one of the best hot toys have done. I only had 1989 Batman and Joker, but I had to get this.

Also got a mms136 Terminator on the way too. Wife thinks that was cheap too. Lol

I picked up two loose from a seller on the forums here for $120 apiece.
They only came with one set of hands(Cheap on Ebay to pick up), and neither of the bases, but this thing looks great even on it's own.
Might be worth considering if you're wanting to pick up the figure and then accrue the funds later to build yourself the entire set. Or if you don't care about the crystal base, etc, and make a bit of a saving(It's not really saving money, just costing you less, lol).

I would very much second what rickrooster has said. I was very dubious about getting this figure but I went for it and he's now one the favourites in my collection! I got mine for £165 and I've seen them sell between £150 -£170, if you can get one in that area then you've got a great deal for an excellent figure.

DX12, i too made the solemn batman-only oath.

but i not only had to buy this one but an extra head to bash a clark. he's so simple a figure, but powerful to the eyes and in the hand.

glad i got him in the weird downslope when the prices were well under.

: D

It is an awesome figure. Well worth the money. And Superman or Christopher Reeve fan (of which I'm both) has to have this in their collection.

It is an amazing likeness and tribute to the best man of steel ever. And the memorium card inside the box is very touching.

I grew up with this man being Superman, so much so, the first film came out in Britain 2 days after I was born. And I was gutted when he had his accident and heartbroken when he died. Then his wife dying pretty much 12 months later was terrible. Never heard or read a bad word about the man as an actor of his personal life. It seems everyone who knew him loved him. I was fortunate enough to know the world renowned stunt man Roy Alon who worked on the first 3 superman movies. And he always said Christopher Reeve was a fantastic man to know.

Couldn't agree more. My favorite figure and the best sculpt alongside Carlito (also Arnie Kim :))

Few figures come close to the iconic sight of Reeve as Superman.

I love the Reeve Sculpt.
I know there are people who complain it doesn't look like him(And the proto images DEFINTELY don't look like him), but i see Christopher Reeve in it every time i look at my Superman shelf.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Username is right. The promo shots are almost like an impression of him. But the actual figure in hand is pretty much perfect. I did extensive studies of photo and video reviews, but they still don't compare to how it looks in hand. To see with the naked eye all the subtle details in the head sculpt, from the slight wrinkling by the eyes to the skin tone, the shape of his nose, the profile of the face, even the ears are the right shape and size. I've looked on freeze frames of my DVD, sad I know, but I'm a stickler for detail. If something's not right I will tell other folk and try do something about it. Hence why I've ordered a 2.0 cape for my Keaton Batman from Tony Meis.

The only nit pick I have, and it's so slight it doesn't even bother me, is the S on his cape is slightly high. Should be more in the middle of his back, but it's been lined up to match the top of the front logo.

It's really something and nothing.

All in all I love and adore this figure. It's without hesitation a 10 out of 10.

Or a Spinal Tap 11!!

I'm a big believer in "the eye of the beholder" and I've not seen this in person yet, but...that's surprising to hear. Even in pics I find it to be an amazing likeness. Maybe the best I've seen of hot toys (tho admittedly I don't follow all their lines).

It is surprising how many say its not spot on.

I think 3 of them were Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Andrea Bocelli!! Lol
