But your posts are still aimed at trying to convince others that your view is more accurate than their own. Thats what your doing that is unrealistic, IMO. And I agree with some of what your saying, but that still doesn't mean MY view is more right.

I'm not talking about my view, I'm talking about the facts presented here, the pixels, the images. If you want to compare more closely, do what I've done and knock-up some images in photoshop, get real-life head shots and put them up against the sculpt images. Look at multiple angles of the recent blog shots. And I didn't ever say anything about right and wrong.

If you don't agree, that's cool. At least you're not name calling and disrespecting me. I don't think I've ever done that either, have I?

I'm not canceling my pre-order and if I could buy 2 more at the price I'm paying for the first, I would.

Re: Hot Toys MMS188 The Dark Knight Rises: Selina Kyle/Catwoman Figure Full Specs & P

Seriously? I can't believe I'm replying to this.

You're replying to this because you're contradicting yourself. Period.

Because it's more friendly, more doe-like, more pleasing, less stare, less blank, softer. It could make the sculpt look like Woopie Goldberg and still be called "better." What I didn't say is that it's a better likeness.

I didn't say you said "a better likeness", either. You said it looked BETTER in capital letters. You thought it looked better, period. You should have used "warmer" or "friendlier" if that's the point you were trying to get across. So don't go around dissing people if you can't express yourself.

Re: Hot Toys MMS188 The Dark Knight Rises: Selina Kyle/Catwoman Figure Full Specs & P

Someone said it eariler, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Its too unrealistic to think all of us will see the same thing. There is no right or wrong. Just different points of view.

When it comes to HT's I have to disagree. Your spending $200 . There is a reason for the high price and that reason should be translated. You should not have to squint your eyes, stand on your head or say "I can see a little Hathaway" in that sculpt.

"dissing"? Am I a cast member of Jersey Shore or part of the entourage of some Kanye-West-type? Seriously? Grow up and learn the language, it's not my place to teach you anything.

It's like someone moved the carpet in this thread and the roaches are scurrying around. Time to cut out for a while as there's no room for discussion and that's why I'm here in the first place.

OK, that's the kind of answer I expected from someone like you.

That custom is pretty freaking sweet. Spot on likeness.

That really is incredible! Bravo whoever did this work.

Re: Hot Toys MMS188 The Dark Knight Rises: Selina Kyle/Catwoman Figure Full Specs & P

This is a much more representative edit - more apples to apples if you will. Go back to it and make the Irises even bigger if you can spare a few moments. Anyone should be able to see the difference, but at the same time recognize it's not the same as the cell-phone picture/edit posted previously.

Better? That pic of the custom is just amazing. Whoever is responsible for that simply nailed it.

Re: Hot Toys MMS188 The Dark Knight Rises: Selina Kyle/Catwoman Figure Full Specs & P

She looks a bit drugged in that one.

The problem is, even if there's 99% Hathaway in that sculpt, I doubt that 99% of collectors would agree that there's 99% Hathaway in that sculpt. That's where I came from when I said "eye of the beholder" earlier. I came to realize that after my year of stay here in the forums, where you can see that Joe Colton is undeniably Bruce Willis and someone would say it looks like a generic Asian guy, but that same someone would say that the TF Exclusive Bruce Wayne HS looks like a shrunken Christian Bale. Heck, even the cowled EB Batman headsculpt continues to get its share of "not Bale" comments. I've contributed to the backlash on QS001, because to my eyes that's not Bale under the cowl at all, and it's twice the price of Selina Kyle.

Instead of questioning our own eyes, or being "the voice of reason" trying to convince people to see what we see from our eyes to their eyes, sometimes we just have to leave an OBJECTIVELY good enough headsculpt to the eyes of the beholder and let them be the judge of it SUBJECTIVELY.

Just saw on the plastic enemies FB, apparently it looks like people are starting to break the lens knobs on her goggles.

Wow HT's really made the goggles a QC issue this time :lecture

It's best that collector's treat the mask like a model, and be very careful on movement of the goggles.

It's not like your typical attachment on a 1/6 figure, the plastic or vinyl used on the goggles is really thin and fragile.

HT's really goofed on one of the unique gimmicks I thought was used on her mask in the film.

What might have been smarter is have the goggles a separate piece from the mask that attaches to the mask and can still pivot upwards instead of one piece.

At first it's the frame, now the lens knobs. Wow, gotta be careful guys.

Lol, I see you edited your post.

Yes, there is a lot of hysterics here as in most HT threads, but you coming here being disrespectful to anyone who doesn't share your point of view —or, should I say, anyone who "doesn't have an eye for faces"— does not help things.

You say that you're here for discussion and as soon as you get caught in contradiction you go off at a tangent with a sad, puerile attempt at ridiculing me for my English. Yeah, that's real class.

It's one thing to differ. Acting all superior on everyone else is pathetic. Yes, please, do us all poor inferior people a favor and get out of here, lest you catch something nasty from us roaches.

Although that is somewhat logical, you're still suggesting that at some point, your point being a $200 figure, everyone will see the same thing. And thats what I am saying is unrealistic. There is still some subjectivity to be considered.

:thud: That's insane. Dramatic improvement. The face even seems thinner.
Should be interesting to see some of the boards top painters put their spin on this figure. Too bad there's not a better way to lengthen her neck.

Ok now thats a big problem... :panic: I think I won't even touch the thing, I wanted to display her without the mask anyway.

But usually, the first figures to ship out are have more defects

:thud:

wow thats crazy, its just a repaint?? it looks WAY too good
Its so good its almost creepy, I feel her watching me

If this is just a repaint... its not the first time a hs looks bad just because of HT's cheep paint

Really well put. No sides, no wrong or right.

Re: Hot Toys MMS188 The Dark Knight Rises: Selina Kyle/Catwoman Figure Full Specs & P

Not really surprised the mask is fragile. Small pieces of plastic tend to be that way if you mess with it too much.
