Water based acrylic is simply that, water based, meaning it easily washes off with water, the only way it would be hard is if you apply some kind of gloss coat or sealer onto the paint job. Then you might have to use paint thinner, but I wouldn't recommend it until you are absolutely satisfied with your paint job before applying any kind of gloss or sealer.

But the trick will be to apply the paint using as little paint as possible, think of it as creating lines in the gaps of the factory's mascara lines, more or less, you won't be completely covering them up but more like making them a bit longer or thicker.

Some HT and Enterbay heads "soak" waterbased paints. Don't be so sure about washing them off. They will stain the plastic, thats how I do a lot of my painting. Layers and layers of "stain".

You're right, that's why I suggested subtly with the paint and strokes, like you said more of a wash or staining effect.

But again I'm getting ahead of myself, until I get the sculpt in my hand to examine the eyes and makeup, I'm not speculating anything on how much more mascara she needs, for all I know she might have the right amount


Pics and lighting don't do these sculpts justice, I've learned that from my custom widow sculpts.

Yep. Someone posted it on OSR's FB stating that he simply repainted the eyes.

The problem is, even if there's 99% Hathaway in that sculpt, I doubt that 99% of collectors would agree that there's 99% Hathaway in that sculpt. That's where I came from when I said "eye of the beholder" earlier. I came to realize that after my year of stay here in the forums, where you can see that Joe Colton is undeniably Bruce Willis and someone would say it looks like a generic Asian guy, but that same someone would say that the TF Exclusive Bruce Wayne HS looks like a shrunken Christian Bale. Heck, even the cowled EB Batman headsculpt continues to get its share of "not Bale" comments. I've contributed to the backlash on QS001, because to my eyes that's not Bale under the cowl at all, and it's twice the price of Selina Kyle.

Instead of questioning our own eyes, or being "the voice of reason" trying to convince people to see what we see from our eyes to their eyes, sometimes we just have to leave an OBJECTIVELY good enough headsculpt to the eyes of the beholder and let them be the judge of it SUBJECTIVELY.

Yes i agree with you. Everything is the eye of the beholder. Im more than amazed on how awesome this Catwoman figure looks and I think its a great likeness to Anne and is the best thats been done for any TDKR Catwoman collectible. Other don't see it?...Whatever....so be it.....There is nothing you can do except decide for yourself. Its hard sometimes to not shake your head at people who don't agree with you on either side. But in the end, its your collection, its your favorite movies and characters. Who cares what others think if you enjoy it.

And some people will just never be happy with anything. Price, likeness, clothing, accessories, etc etc. Theres a lot of jealousy in the hobby to and sometimes thats due to $$. Some cannot afford everything they want so they try and knock a figure down so they have a reason not to buy it. Not everyone is like that, but it happens.

Personally i just collect for the love of the movies and characters. 100% perfect likeness IMO is nearly impossible because in the end its a plastic figure and things will get compromised because its a 1/6 scale toy.

But i think Hot Toys does an amazing job and they make the best toys for the stuff I want to buy. I love action figures. i love the movies. Thats all I care about. Even ones i dont think have a great likeness doesnt matter that much to me because i care more about the movie and character. Just because Johnny Depp's Pirates figure is a great likeness doesnt make me want to buy it since I dont collect JD or Pirate stuff.

In the end all this nonsense back n forth about whats 80% or 99% likeness is silly because we all just see things different. Ill leave it at that.
