Modification/Customization for the DX12 Batman Figure

Looking at his pic, I think he painted ON the underside of the eyeballs.

I thought so too but I just asked him and he says, "just the eyelid".

So IDK.

If you're talking about Kai's mouthpiece, it is a modified TDK mouth. Man, with all the custom mouthpieces, and cowl and whatnot, this is turning out to be the most versatile TDK figure yet, the display options' just amazing. I wonder why this didn't happen sooner, like back in the DX2's days.

Anybody else thinks the chin is slightly too long?

Looking at his pic, I think he painted ON the underside of the eyeballs, so more dark areas cover the white area under the pupil, giving an illusion of a squint. Nice trick. Anyone care to try? lol

He just painted on the eyelid; not eye ball. The white area under the pupil is just the shadow. Just look at the unmodded one, it has similar shadowing under the pupil.

I think it's because we had fewer options. On top of that, I don't think anyone wanted to carve up the medi mouth...cuz of the whole newness thing, since it just came out. Now that a few years have gone by, the newness factor has faded and with a new figure (dx12) having a superior body and armor, I guess folks were more willing to take their older figure and see what could they take from that to add onto the new one to enhance it some more.

Just my thoughts on it.

I painted the underside of the lids like that also. Its easier to do if you remove the PERS plate and remove the knob. You can move the eyes completely up or down so only the whites show and paint. There's not a lot of fear of mistakes if the eyes are rolled back and you can get it pretty precise with a thin brush.

I think it looks great and I originally intended a squint sculpt mod, but I'm happy with just the paint.

I think it's fine. It helps sell the illusion that there is a head beneath the cowl. There were many shots in the movie where the exposed portion of his face comes out of the cowl more. And let's not forget that bale has a "sharp" face...so I think it's fine.

And hey, more variety is always better.

I'm still going to try and darken the eyeballs a bit, see if it works, it SOUNDS like a good idea... or a really really serious mistake. We'll see...

The only other non sculpted squint mod I can think of is Maglor's. He said he used a thick, non-watered down layer of paint on the bottom eyelids, the build up of the paint give the impression of a squint. I tried this and failed miserably. Check out his photos, should be easy to find.

Yeah, just painted the eyelids. I went with keeping the inner corner for detail but painted the bottom and top of the lids, the thin lip right near the eyeballs. Also took out the PERS to move each eye independently.

hi, how is the painting quality of Robbie's mouthplate? Heard collectors feedback is not as natural. Considering if want to take it as well.

I dunno about others, but I think Robbie did a great job on the paint applications.
