$15k is not outrageous for her. I'm a little surprised it's not more.
She's basically the premier talent in the industry.
She's part of the commercial industry, not hobby customisers making interest threads on websites.
How much gross profit would Blitzway's Rocky and Marilyn statues have made?

I think this is true.

How much do you think Hot Toys Senior level head sculptor get for annual salary and how many character do they make a year?
And usually it's not just a single sculpt per character when it's officially licensed product.
They go through many revisions internally and externally with actors' and actresses and their agencies.

That 15K is actually lower than I think. if it's true.
She is many custom head sculptor's success story and roll model, you know.

In the podcast Vijay mention's it was around £500ish for a head sculpt but doesn't give an exact price!
The 15k thing is a myth from what I know! I spoke to her a few years ago about doing a commission and it wasn't no where near that price! Just a mega long wait list as she was extremely busy.

Also Rovo Jin and Yumi Kim are part of the Molecule8 team.

Can't wait to get my hands on that loveable character Arthur from that long running and iconic Tick tv show.
Having said that with the way molecule8 market stuff you'll probably buy Arthur and get all the supporting cast thrown in for free.

You are completely wrong man. I personally know people that have hired her and the price is in the 18k range.

About seven hundred american is too low and the fifteen thousand range is too high. So I'm just going to believe it's somewhere in the middle. lol

I totally believe the $15K price. It's not like she or anyone is doing 50 sculpts a year; they have to make a living.

Why is 15k seem alot for an offically licensed sculpt that will be used in a production piece?

I would say 20K is not unreasonable for that. The corporate art world is an expensive trade, especially of your known for selling scupts.

I can imagine a difference in price if an artist is doing a one-off commission versus a licensed product intended for global release.

Based on all of the refunds, M8 had to scale back the future sculpting budgets and hire little less known artists.

These are exclusive first look Travis Bickle 2-pack prototypes from what I understand. Little rough around the edges but they will get it cleaned up.

They took orders for two months and stopped. This is supposed to ship in August. They can't take orders indefinitely.

Doubt it.

Like I said, they have to stop taking orders at a certain point. They listed the item with just the headsculpt. I'm sure they knew it was shady before they listed it and didn't care. Sideshow's dealt with plenty of furor over the years, this is nothing new for them.

After a nearly 3 week wait, PayPal finally refunded me. I had originally requested a refund from M8 and was told that I would be refunded that day, two weeks later, still no refund from M8. Very glad PayPal came through. My fault for believing the hype and preordering with no company track record or solid prototype preview.
