Sideshow never should have put this up for preorder with nothing but an unpainted sculpt done by an independent pro and computer graphics. They gave M8 undeserved credibility.

I amazed anyone fronted any kind of money for anything, from a total unknown, until there was at least something to see publicly in the real world. But then that's what companies like this count on; rather than investment & getting themselves set up, they just figured they could rely on... let's call it "goodwill", to be nice.

Not, I should add, because they are necessarily trying it on; but certainly because they think they can skip the usual groundwork by just gambling on enough people happily opening their wallets, and then feeling the rest will somehow to all fall into place.

Magic beans, as I muttered previously.

They are nothing like Star Ace at all. SA shows prototypes and releases product.

What a weird way to behave. Star Ace could take a lesson or two from Molecule8! They'll never revolutionize 1/6 scale collecting by showing prototypes and releasing actual figures.

It did look pretty good for where their PF quality was at the time.

And I could have sworn there were some Highlander PFs in the works that never made it to preorder or were very briefly. I think SS said that was their worst selling license evAr.

Yikes. I'm a Highlander fan, and owned one of those figures, but it doesn't scream "popular property" to me.

Molecule8 upped the Star Ace process of making action figures: Whereas Star Ace started with a couple of great offerings and slowly decreased quality Molecule8 wasted no time with such nonsense: they sped up the system greatly by taking your money in advance and not releasing anything at all.

If that isn't revolutionary and new I don't know what is.

Ok I'll say it...I think some folks on this thread who were jumping down the throats of other folks on this thread who were calling M8 scammers literally from day one owe them an apology...or at least a "you were right" or at the very least a "thank you for trying to talk me out of being ripped off..."
