Re: Molecule8 (New company)

The glasses are just a place holder. Probably because people were annoyed by the PS glasses.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

There are some amazing custom 2Pac figs out there already, brother! Seb's Customs just made customs of Method Man and Redman. Dope figs! I was thinking Beastie Boys, too.

Where can I see those at? I'd love to take a look.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Back on topic... I'm looking forward to more reveals from M8! Two head sculpts and two outfits already, plus knowing the hands are sculpted... Damn, the pot is getting sweet! That singing sculpt is very nice!

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

SiriusXM just started a Beatles channel, and it's got me in the mood for more high end Beatles collectibles. Would really love to see a Paul to complement this guy. I've got some Kubricks that are nice, and had the Yellow Submarine 1/6 figures a few years back. But what Molecule8 is doing here is what I really want.

I totally agree with you...If this Lennon launch goes as expected, they will have broken through significant red tape. I imagine getting the rights to the others will be easier. Even if they only got one or two more, they would be quite a compliment to the Lennon figure. From that early post Beatles 1971 to match John would be great..

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Like Geronimo, I would also prefer an early 70s Paul, since it would line up better with John. But I would take anything from the mid 60s on.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Paul is a musical genius but unless it is to complete an era appropriate Beatles line up...not someone I have ever really imagined needed to be an action figure...

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I do hope with John as their first figure that it could lead to the Beatles being made. If a 70's Paul was made, it would have to be the one from Wings Over America Tour.

Molecule8 (New company)

Can you imagine if Molecule8 secured the rights to the other Beatles after a successful Lennon launch?! Wow, what an impact that would be!

Any year would be great, but 1971 to keep in sync with Lennon would be my choice..

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I'm sure Ringo is begging for someone to want his rights.

Paul is all lol no.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I have zero interest in any figures post-Beatles except John. For me to have interest in the other 3, it would need to be Beatles era (1960-1969) and that is highly unlikely. :monkey2

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Highly unlikely? I'm not sure. I mean, this was released just last year.

I think they're only licensing the cartoon versions. Maybe they're not into licensing the group in realistic form. These are the only times I've seen the group made in a more realistic way.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I'm ok with a 70's Paul since I actually prefer his music with Wings.

There is a distinction between stylized/cartoony rights, and detailed, realistic likeness rights. These examples from Soulsaman seem to straddle the boundaries. But we've seen cutesy/cartoony, but licensed versions of Clint Eastwood, Alex from Clockwork Orange, Tom Cruise, and various others that we've not had detailed, realistic versions of. Until recent years, this also applied to Michael J. Fox, Bill Murray, and Sigourney Weaver.
