Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I can't believe these companies are putting up pre-orders with the figure in this state.

This is absurd.

It does grate a bit given the company's claims to date, but on the glass-half-full side... this gives people an opportunity to secure a risk-free PO.

I still remember how bummed I was that Gentle Giant's R2-D2 never made it to production, despite a pre-order page on BBTS complete with proto pic.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

As for Wonka I'm very excited for this I always feel the love of the hobby is better when shared and Wonka is a piece that needs to be shared! I'm really hoping they give Wonka a singing expression with the teacup and Mushroom cane.

I've pre ordered Lennon so I'm curious. :)

Their Website says they have The Tick License.
Would anyone know if they're making a Patrick Warburton Tick or the Peter Serafinowicz Tick?
Thanks.

The latter.

Man I wish they were making Warburton though.

Pre-ordered John Lennon from BBTS. I'm really pulling for M8 to knock these figures out of the park. I like the superhero figures and all, but I also really like variety. :lol

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

They are really tapping some major talent for their line. Will be interesting to see how this all pans out. I've already POed Lennon and will be ordering Wonka. Ordinarily WW wouldn't even be on my list, but from artisanship standpoint it will be a must have.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I honestly thought we'd Never get a Licensed Wonka. I remember reading somewhere years ago that Gene Wilder would never authorize one for some reason? I on more than a few occasions almost paid Two Grand for a Rainman Wonka. Really Glad I never made that purchase now.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Really don't know what to make of any of this. On the one hand the idea that people will actually get what they're being promised goes against everything I've ever seen in this hobby. Every single 1:6 figure consists of a ton of parts and processes all of which could go wrong. I looked into Big Chief's track record when the Bond preorder came up and every release they've done seems to have some problem. Same with Sideshow Star Wars. Whether it's big things or small things you can't get around the fact that nothing ever comes out exactly as previewed.

But then again I grew up in London and I've known a bunch of entrepreneurial Asian guys (by which I mean Indian or Pakistani) who have made small fortunes in unlikely ways - drives a flash car, takes his washing home to Mum, is into property, import and export running into millions, eats at Mickey D's - and I've found that generally they deliver on their promises, however unlikely. So who knows?

Wilder would never. But once he became worm food, his estate owners got bills to pay!

You just mean Wonka likeness? Because I have the Sideshow Young Frankenstein set.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I think this is fantastic! Seems like this company has its finger on the collectors pulse! With the different body sizes it will be amazing, I wonder if the Oompa will be Posable

What? You don't think a company can come out of nowhere and hit a homerun just with sheer intent and publicity alone?
