It's going to be epic! Mike the Sculptor does like 1:1 bad arse stuff that looks alive. He did some crazy good Universal Monsters and other crazy stuff.

There are lots of movies that work on different levels for kids and adults. This is one of them IMO, but like most, I saw it as a kid, and still think of it in more or less the way I did as a kid.

I was prepared for the weird, and I was steeling myself for the appearance of the Oompa Loompas - comparable to the Munchkins in The Wizard of Oz - but I wasn't prepared for this...

They hadn't left the bed for years. That's a lot of bedpans to empty...

Exactly! I saw this when it was first on tv in the early 70's. I was a kid and was scared to death of two things: the Joker (Batman) and the Wonka scene with the boat in the tunnel.

That's just legaleze. Doesn't sound any different then HTs disclaimer claiming the production piece may not look like the the prototype pics.

Sounds like they're just being good scientists to me. Bloodletting was a great idea until it wasn't, etc.
