Re: Molecule8 (New company)

What? You don't think a company can come out of nowhere and hit a homerun just with sheer intent and publicity alone?

You're right, I need to believe harder.

Or start my own company:

Coming soon - TD Collectibles International presents its licensed singing Elvis Presley figure! Each figure has a 1/6 larynx grown in a laboratory and implanted into the titanium body! Only $199! Preorders next Tuesday! Figure ships Thursday!

There's too much cynicism in this hobby. Stop being negative and send me your money!

I see - so now Wonka comes with axe, hotel room diorama, and screaming woman figure? Cool!

Let's hope they throw in the chocolate factory as well, I think they should for $250.

It better produce delicious sixth scale treats!!!! Square foot wise, what do you folks think we are in for? The backyard patio and some landscaping may need to go.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I hope this works out. We need diversity bad, a Wonka figure is what a good chunk of the 1/6 collecting community need/want.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

It's going to be epic! Mike the Sculptor does like 1:1 bad arse stuff that looks alive. He did some crazy good Universal Monsters and other crazy stuff.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

There are lots of movies that work on different levels for kids and adults. This is one of them IMO, but like most, I saw it as a kid, and still think of it in more or less the way I did as a kid.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I was prepared for the weird, and I was steeling myself for the appearance of the Oompa Loompas - comparable to the Munchkins in The Wizard of Oz :horror - but I wasn't prepared for this...

They hadn't left the bed for years. That's a lot of bedpans to empty...

:lol yeah I guess as a kid the most horrifying part went right over my head.

Exactly! I saw this when it was first on tv in the early 70's. I was a kid and was scared to death of two things: the Joker (Batman) and the Wonka scene with the boat in the tunnel.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Movie is an absolute classic, M8 going to knock it out of the park! That vest print is amazing and the shoes and accessories spot on. I hope they release Bickle soon

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

They put up a page with a bit about their artists:

https://molecule8.com/artists/

This disclaimer from the bottom of their site is a bit odd, specifically the last two lines...

'All facts are subject to amendments'. I can't wait to use that line on my children.
