MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

True to comic or not, I like them because they have different colors. Was a bit thrown by it at first but I like the look :)

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

I really like the sculpts on these, but the different skin colors really ruin them for me. I'm not bothered by the alternate heads with the colored masks as those are optional, but using the skin colors from the vintage Playmates toys makes them decidedly NOT the comic versions in my opinion.

Except for the covers, the original comics were black and white so the color tone didn't really matter. I like that they are offering these with colored masks and the vintage toy colors. It helps to differentiate them on the shelf. I'm sure there will be black & white variants at some point like others have said.

I also like both the vintage toy throwback, and fact that it makes them more distinctive. Otherwise, it's just slightly different facial expressions, weapons/holsters, and if you chose to display them, the alternate head sculpts with cartoon-colored masks.

Why are the 1/6? They have about the same detail an average 6" has.

I'm thinking they're intending to charge 1/6 prices and since these are 1/6, people will eat it up.

These have to be no more than $60 to not be a joke.

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

I really want to like these and pre order...but man these look like the playmates that somebody customized. I don't know about these...

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

Once we get official pics, I'll decide. I customized a Nickelodeon Leonardo and it has better coloration. But these have better sculpts and accessories. I'll probably buy one and stop there. If shredder is badass, then I'll buy him too.

Wonder when Leo goes up for PO?

Wish NECA renewed the license and made bigger scales of turtles.

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

$150 for all 4 sounds more like it. I got excited over this too.. Oh well.

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

Seems like a good price since NECA is now charging $300 for a 1/4 scale hulk haha

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

At $150 each I think I'm in. If these are available through Sideshow I may be able to get them for a discount anyways through my dealer. Though if Mondo has website exclusives I may just have to spring for those.

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

If these are just up-scaled 6 inch plastic action figures, $150 is a bit much. Look at what Mezco is doing with their 1/6 Mortal Kombat figures. Those are plastic too, but they are only $30 each.

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

I'd imagine if they halved their asking price they'd have raked in a zillion orders but at that price a majority will pass.

Re: MONDO - 1/6 Comic Style TMNT Figures Announced

I'll consider the non turtle releases but at the price point and differing skin tones I'll pass
