I agree, and sincerely doubt I will get one. i wanted to show it though, because its always good to know what's out there.

The selling points will be the sculpt is improved. Plus the Revenge of the Creature head, which is spot on to the Hennessey/Browning mask.

I found it interesting they will be doing the other classic monsters with modern updates. Curious if it's a rights thing, or a Universal mandate since they will be using updated looks for the classic monsters for their new theme park.

I agree to a point. I don't mind "modernizing" looks. However, they should brand the mondern looks as Universal Monsters or something, because they aren't the Universal Classic Monsters anymore.

That said I'll stick to Kaustic Plastik, and hope they can work out likeness rights with the Chaney and Karloff families, if Mondo isn't going to give us the Classic Monsters look.

I believe the reasoning for the redesigns are copy rights expiring on the originals. Disney lost Steamboat Willie Micky Mouse this year. Each new iteration has its own new copyright timer, which is why they’ve gone with a newer style lately. Same is probably the reasoning with Universal. Their control over the original looks is nearly up. Some like Wolfman and Creature probably have another decade or two but Frankenstein and Dracula are nearly 100 years old now. Crazy!

Metali name is attached to the sculptor credit on the Creature. If they use his sculpts for officially licensed figures, they will be nice. Probably too expensive and unaffordable, but nice.

This looks great! And miles above better than their first attempt which I love as well. I'll definitely be upgrading though. I will give the 1.0 to my son who also loves the Creature From the Black Lagoon.

I don't own any seamless sixth scale figures. How does the material tend to hold up over time? Silicone is generally pretty long-lasting, but I have no idea what sorts of rubbers they normally use

It looks like a full rubber suit. In one of the pics, the lower torso kind of collapses when the leg is moved. Creature didn't seem to be in any dynamic poses so I guess that's ok.

Yeah this is a rubber skin overlay on a armature body. Although it looks nice in static standing or swimming poses, you can't bend the elbows or knees for too long because they'll eventually crack and split. The previous harder plastic segmented Mondo Creature was more of an engineering feat. It's why I bought one despite already having the Sideshow Seamless version. I like the Revenge of the Creature options but it's not enough to get me to buy a new Seamless 1/6 Creature.
