Most Disturbing Scenes??

I thought the movie Paranormal Entity was rough, due to what ends up happening to the brother. Sad ____. I've spent a number of years in the state pen and I have seen how such a situation can destroy your life, both physically and mentally, if it's justified then fine but in the brothers case, I really feel for him.
For that matter I believe anyone who has spent time in the federal or state pens has seen how depraved and disgusting humans can be, have seen brutal rapes, beatings and murders. and has heard all the disturbing "unnatural" noises the human body makes when being killed or tortured. They are definitely sounds that stay with you on those late nights.

There is a strange thing about Man Bites Dog.
It's all set-up to be a (dark) comedy, the way a crew follows the serial killer, how he describes how he murders people, other killers with their own camera crews and stuff. When I first watched it I found it to be quite clever and fun, right until the rape scene. I really hated that scene, messed up the flow of the film.

That scene makes the watcher (in my case anyway) extremely uncomfortable.
This pointed out to me that in this film, as watcher you feel that murder is ok, even fun in the way it's presented here, and only when the rape comes along you start to feel really uncomfortable and suddenly realise that you didn't feel that way at all about all the murders.

I felt pretty uncomfortable when he smothered the little kid.

Kids these days sure are desensitized to violence.

Serbian Film? or Salo?

Yeah this is a toss up, cause Serbian film is messed up...and well Salo is pretty messed up as well and just gross (poop eaters), lol. I remember
when Salo had just came out on DVD i had a friend that scored an international copy and you couldnt really find it anywhere and my friend sold his for $300. I couldnt beleive it. At that time it was just one of those rare flicks that people wanted to see so badly from all the hype.

I am pretty sure it's been brought up, but I found Requiem for a Dream disturbing because of how "real" it was. Actually, sad and disgusting (as in mentally digusted, not physically disgusted by the scenes) are appropriate descriptors. I've seen too many people go through the trials of addiction.

Another movie that I have a love/hate relationship with is Taxi Driver. Great flick, but again, all too real.

To those who have been through hardships in life, be it addiction, war, prison, rape, molestation, etc. these movies aren't escapes, but reminders. I think that is also where a lot of them loss the "shock value", yet they are no easier to watch because of it.

Finally got around to watching Old Boy. Was mentioned in this thread, and I've heard it praised before.....excellent movie for sure.
Really messed up, interesting and the man had some pretty good boxing skills. That scene had me amped up, he had pretty nice form, anyone know if the actor boxed in real life?

I've owned this movie for a few years now for the PSP but never got around to watching it, I should probably check it out.

Watched a movie the other night which was very disturbing

There was a rape scene where a bunch of guy in prison on a cigarette break decide to rape a kid in a greenhouse.

Was just horrid, mostly because not only did he cry and wimper so much but it just happened, they didn't even know him they just decided to do it, and a guard even caught them and just smiled and walked away.

The kid then went on to kill himself, he laid in bed and cut his arms under the sheet, was done quite well in that you didn't see the action just the blood staining the sheets, but then they showed him bloodied arms and it was just shocking.
