I just checked my last three months of statements

295866 kb
395678 kb
356254 kb

So it seems my average usage is well below the 2GB, so I guess if Verizon chooses that as a limit I should be okay. Still sux though.

Yeah mine is crazy low as well. I wasnt even close to 1 GB last month. I use the shat out of wifi though.

Hard to imagine what you would have to do to actually surpass 2GB a months :google

Yeah I was all worried about it until I checked my usage. This really is a non issue for most I believe. Hell I may even bump mine down to 1 GB a month just to save some coppers.

On a side note. Mom gets her Droid X tonight. I can't wait to check it out !

I kinda panicked and thought my usage went waaaaaaay up in the past two days even though I'm on wifi most of the time. Then I realized I had just forgotten that the little MyVerizon app displays data usage in kilobytes rather than megabytes. :slap :lol

Not that it matters too much since I'm on unlimited. :rock

Continuing my great Droid odyssey, I'm now using "Launcher Pro" as my default launcher. It's a lot nicer than the default launcher, imo. The "Plus" version comes with a nice Sense-like contacts widget with more widgets promised in the future.

I just got my droidx a few days ago and i love this thing... I hadn't even given any thought to my data usage... I haven't turned the wifi on once yet, i probably shoud use it some until i get my first bill and see what the damage is.

Sent from my DROIDX

Launcher Pro is really good, I've used it before, right now I have HelixLauncher which I like a little better.

do any of you guys use tapatalk pro? I downloaded it and played with it a little.

I used the read only version on the iPhone once or twice just to see what it was all about. It was okay, but I think I'll stick to the web browser.

Posting from my phone so I will give more details later. First impressions with the x? Glad I bought an iPhone. Even worse was trying to show mom how to use it. LOL!

Ok what I liked:

Screen size

Speaker phone volume (iPhones is horrible IMO)

It felt nice in the hand Its heavier then the iPhone yet felt lighter

Love the animated backgrounds

The stock sounds are WAY cooler then iPhones

What I didn't Like:

Clunky clunky clunky. The navigation is not even close to iPhone

The menus are crazy! Seriously not a user friendly interface at all. I am going to have fun trying to teach my 56 year old mom to use it.

The touch screen isn't nearly as smooth as I would like

It came with no earphones or instructions. If you want them you can DL them or call Motorola. (If you are a first time user WTF?)

The camera and video are close but not on par with the quality of iphone.

This is nitpicky and I know it! But whats up with the huge Verizon logo on the front? The phone is by no means pretty but that makes it just look cheap!

That's it for now. I plan on spending tomorrow with the device. I still believe both phones are great. Just glad I picked up iPhone.

I'm really interested to see how much improvement phones will get with Android 2.2

You mentioned that the Droid X isn't very smooth, and I remember a test video where they were testing the Droid X against a less-powerful phone running 2.2 and the less powerful phone ran much faster than the Droid X, so I'm guessing there will be a serious speed boost when it upgrades later.

Agreed. My neighbor got one of these and I got to mess around with it for a few minutes. It's not bad, but I prefer my iPhone.

LOL! So mom called Motorola and they tried to charge her $25 to send her a manual. She refused and they are sending her one. WTF? Insane!

She is starting to figure it all out though. Her and my stepdad played with the phone all night and had a blast with it. Now he wants one.

I used it a bit more this morning. Have to admit it is a pretty cool device. Again I prefer the iPhone 4. However, if I would have tried the X prior to switching to AT&T I doubt I would have made the switch. It was a real pain in the ass this iPhone debacle. From pre-ordering to double charges and then phone replacements and 80 mile trips to the apple store (twice).

I did consider returning my iPhone today a bit last night. The main reasons why I won't are the camera and video. The iPhone 4's are just flat out better. Last night I said it was close but after using it more the iPhone 4's are flat out better (I plan on using this as my main camera and camcorder). Finally I spent about X amount of money on apps and such already. So I'm staying put.

I do really like the size of the device and I REALLY hope apple considers making their next phone bigger. People that say this phone is too big should really hold it and check it out. It feels great in your hand and is easily pocketable.

My girlfriend is picking up her X this Saturday. So I will have another one to get my hands on and play around with.

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl Wait, they said $25 for the book, she said no, and they are sending her one for free anyways??? That makes no sense. I'm going to try that the next time I buy a car.

Yeah she had to talk to a supervisor. LOL! I don't understand why they would ship this phone without a manual? It took me a while to figure things out. It isn't the most user friendly thing I can tell you that.

My biggest fear is that I become "The Android Guy" for my friends and family. It's bad enough that I'm "The Mac Guy" and "They iPhone Guy" for all of them. I think I'd just shoot myself if I became the community tech support for this phone.

The most frustrating thing I've found so far is that Application settings can override global system settings. For instance: I have my USB settings to default to "Charge Only", otherwise my SD card becomes unavailable every time I plug it into my care stereo's USB port. This all worked peachy until I installed the DoubleTwist player. DoubleTwist has a default setting that makes it so your phone goes into "USB Drive" mode every time a USB connection is detected. I went INSANE trying to figure out what was wrong because the USB settings my system preferences hadn't changed. I eventually found the DoubleTwist setting and everything worked great after that.

This phone is awesome for people who know (or can figure out) what they're doing, but it would be an exercise in frustration for everybody else.

There are programs like The Missing Sync to make things a little easier on everybody, but I haven't tried it. Now that I'm all set up and used to the whole Android experience, I doubt that I will.

Agreed! I have very little patience. I know that's not a good thing but hey at least I'm honest. Although it was fun to play around with it and the animated backgrounds.

Honestly, if I could afford both an iPhone and a Droid I would have them both. LOL!
