The DX has a bigger screen while the D2 has a slide out keyboard. D2 ships with Android 2.2 while the DX will be updated to 2.2 sometime next month-ish.

Other than that, they are pretty similar. I think the D2 has a 5MP camera vs. the DX's 8MP.

What phone are you using now? If you can stomach the wait, there should be some dual core phones this fall. If they do it right, it will be awesome, if they do it wrong, it will have worse battery life than the Incredible.

The Droid Pro is hitting this Fall too. Don't know much about it other than will be able to get service outside the US.

edit: The DX has some awesome noise canceling mics. Not sure if the D2 has 'em too or not...

I dont think it looks bad, but it doesn't exactly knock my socks off either. I think I'll withhold judgement until we get a better look. I'm more curious about the performance and software theme than the outer shell.

Here's a kind of stupid question:

I'd like to get the car dock for the Droid X and mount it on my windshield. Do you think having an empty cradle in a parked car would attract thieves?

I don't drive anything great, and there's nothing of value in my car when I park it, but I don't want my no-alarm car to become a target for having a cradle.

Any opinions?

Yeah, it is, so maybe that's what I'll do. I just don't know what kind of hassle it is. I guess I'll have to hit the store this weekend and check it out.
