Oh yeah once I turned the GPS off (so as to stop the geo trackers info creepy) things are better. I'l give that app a try too, thanks Kabuki. And I am always surprised as to what the Droid recognizes. I like I told my friend to suck my **** and the droid typed out suckmytwat as one word. Awesome.

Do you use the power control widget?

I use the Moto supplied control widgets which kinda do the same thing. They just look nicer with the background I'm using. :lol

The Google power control widget has more toggles, so I should probably be using that instead.

Flash sucks on the desktop, so I imagine it would be even worse on a mobile phone. That said, I haven't used it yet, so I really don't know.

Gottcha. I'm not sure why it was such an arguing point over iPhone? I must be missing something?

It's interesting that the Droid X is selling more then the Droid 2. I have no idea why Motorola even released the Droid 2. It seems kind of pointless when the X is clearly the better phone. I guess they thought people still wanted a physical keyboard?

I'm anxious to see what they plan on releasing in November or December.

I just want to plug a product that I'm amazed at. This is the best screen protector I've ever used for anything, and I've used just about everyone out there for things like my ipod touch, and older phones like the Versa and nothing has come close to this one. I got the anti-fingerprint screen for the droid x and I'm beyond impressed with this thing. Everything from the application to it's look and feel is just top quality. It essentialy applied itself without any bubbles or anything. I'm going to try out some more of their products, and they make screens for just about every device so if you're in the market for something, I highly reccommend anything made by these guys. I can only vouch for the anti-fingerprint because it's all I've used from them, but I can only imagine the quality of their other products.

Droid X users: Annoyed by the little bit of lag when unlocking your screen?

1) Go to settings
2) Select Location & security
3) Uncheck Screen lock
4) Select Security lock
5) Pick a security lock type and set it up
6) Click the physical sleep/power button up top
7) Go back into your settings
8) Disable the security lock
9) Re-enable the screen lock
10) Profit

It's like magic! It does come back after a while though. :monkey2

:clap:clap:clap
That is crazy. It fixed something that was like less than a millisecond of lag.

Anyone else use the "sketcher" app? This thing is so cool. Here is like a 10 second drawing I did with it. It's got really cool brushes that create the effects, you just draw with your finger using different speeds and pressures.

I posted this a while back. I put one on my moms Droid and the back of my iPhone has one on there. The iPhone one was harder to put on because the Droid has that perfect lip to set it right in there. Very good quality product and far superior then Zaggs and the other rubbery stuff.

I'm waiting on the r2-d2 droid 2 next month before I pull the trigger on one

CR4 what's your thoughts and settings for saving the battery?

For me, if I use it regularly throughout the day I may get anywhere from 5 to 7 hours out of it. If I'm sparing with it, I may get 12 hours or so.

One thing I do is make use of the built in 'Power Control' widget. This allows quick control over some of the less power friendly items on the phone. I turn off all except for the ‘Sync’ (especially if I want to receive email) and ‘Automatic Screen Brightness’. I only turn on GPS, Bluetooth, and/or Wireless if I'm actually using one of them.

I also try to keep an eye out for what uses the battery (Settings / About Phone / Battery use). This is a good way to catch apps that try to butt____ your battery.

Some other useful tips…

1. If you aren't using the phone then make sure that you put it in 'Sleep' mode by simply pressing the power button once.
2. Change the length of time that it takes your phone to turn off the display. Do this by pressing Menu > Settings > Display > Screen Timeout
3. GPS will eat your battery for breakfast so it’s best to have your Droid plugged in while using Google Navigator if you have a car charger.
4. Most "Live Wallpapers" will also consume lots of battery power. My advice would be to avoid those if at all possible
5. The battery stops charging when it’s full. Leaving it connected won’t charge it any more. However, it is perfectly OK to leave it connected so it can charge overnight.
6. The Droid’s Lithium-ion batteries need to be used for maximum performance. If you don’t use your device often, be sure to complete a charge cycle at least once per month. (Drain completely from a full charge)

You're rooted aren't you cr4? damn, I need to get up the nerve to do that...:yess:

Yeah, I'm rooted. I'm running a custom rom, Ultimate Droid Froyo eXtreme 7.0.0 with a ported version of Manup456's rEVOlution Theme. I've also tweked a few things myself like the dialer (I love the Droid eyes as buttons) and some of the system icons.

Whats the biggest risk/downside to being rooted?

I am thinking about doing it but dont know much about it.
