I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with my phone. I've not been able to make it through a day on a charge yet. It's 3:20 and I'm already down to 40%.

edit: I keep my brightness turned down to 0%, I don't run an app killer because everything I've read said they are bad, I guess I'm closing out of programs after I run them, I put the battery in straight out of the box and used it until it died and then full charged and it's been like this since. I use launcher pro, a regular wallpaper not any of the live ones, beautiful widgets with live weather. I'm not sure what the deal is but surely my battery life is supposed to be better than this right? The other day I went from 20% to dead in about 10 minutes while on a phone call with the screen off and everything.

Yeah make sure you are using the battery saver option and make sure your phone disconnects from the internets if its on standby. That really helped me a lot. Also your brightness level is set to again conserve your battery. Do all of these and you'll be fine. And don't watch too much porn.

How do you know if it's still connected to the internet or not when it's on standby?

When you close out the window or move from it, it's not "open" anymore. The battery drain seems to be from the hardware not being able to keep up with the software. my battery goes faster after the 2.2 update then it did before. I don't have the X but the display is the main hog of power and with it having a larger screen.... well then.

Try going to about phone then battery use and see what's doing what.

Another quick question about dropbox. Is it possible to take a video with my phone and put it in dropbox on my phone and be able to access it from my laptop, or is it only from PC to phone? If so how would I do that? Thanks.

Kabuki might have a better opinion on it or Psychic Thrifty might know cause well he's psychic, but two friends of mine bought X's that were defective. Sent them back and got ones that weren't. I don't know what was wrong with them. Yours could share the same mishap. I'd take it into verizon and see what they say if you have one around you.

My battery didn't really break in until after about 2 weeks of use. I was often at 40% after getting home from work mid-day. This is with a couple phone calls, lots of futzing around with (it was still new and I had it on constantly), wifi always on, GPS always on, live background, ton o' widgets, and Launcher Pro with 7 screens.

After that 2 weeks, I've consistently gotten full days. It's usually around 30%-40% when plugging it in at night at 10. Though, it does get a charge in my car some times when I remember to plug it in. Give it some time to break the battery in. If you're still getting crappy battery life, download SystemPanelLite:

That will allow you to see if you have any rouge apps going wild on your cpu or network hogs. Those will kill your battery fast.

Regarding uploading to DropBox, it's really easy! Just open the DropBox app, navigate to where you want to put the picture or video, then click the menu button (4 squares physical button on the left) and then tap upload. It will then ask what type of file you'd like to upload. If you select photo or video, it will launch Gallery (or ask you which program to launch) and you can select your file from there. Easy cheesy.
