Has anyone found any good stuff at closing blockbusters? There is one newly closing by my house, I might check out after work. I assume most of the good stuff is being nabbed by employees but I guess you never know.

Yes, and on top of that the posters are generally single sided video release versions over the ds theater versions. In more recent years they were starting to get more of the DS stuff, but I'd bet most of that would be history.

Yea for sure. Welp I am going to find out anyway cause it is pretty close. Worth the couple minute drive plus it will get me away from a computer screen for a while.

Sure thing. One of my favorites that I've dealt with for at least 10 years is Dale Dilts, ebay id ddilts399 (also known as movie posters for u). Great for new releases.

A couple that I've had good luck with on older posters are dammiteb, papi139, and movies-inc. Haven't dealt with them quite as much as Dale, but I've been happy with everything I've got from them so far.

I agree! I just bought the ali poster from him.

The above are the two posters that just came in. Anyone has any info on the red tinged predator poster? I can't find much info on it, is it cause its not common?

Anyways I've been collecting posters slowly for a while now but recently I went on a shopping spree. haha. Majority of my purchases (in the past and recently) are originals.

transformers quad
aliens (could be a reprint)

Reprints:
jaws

i think I have another at least 10 more that I can't remember.
The idea is when I have my own crib, gonna have a hallway that leads to the theater room which is gonna display all my framed posters. :D

Question for you on your T2 - I'm assuming it's ds, but what is the exact size? I"m trying to confirm that mine is original.

I have a question about the light box frame.
How do you put the poster in it, do you display it against the glass or is there a groove to slide the poster in and wouldn't the light cause a fire?

Poster goes between a translucent white acrylic sheet and a clear acrylic sheet - you have to use the right bulbs, but it's florescent and doesn't get that hot.

I just got an order from ddilts today - He had a Captain America teaser on ebay that said "Captain America" rather than "Avenge" - I thought it was unusual so I got it from him instead of elsewhere, but when I got it it was the standard "Avenge" one. Still a cool poster.

I have an original international "The Dark Knight" poster (Batman looking out on the city) and it is beautiful. My fiance got it for me back when we just started dating--part of the reason I knew she was a keeper haha.

Now are double sided movie posters considered the original and single sided as duplicates?

Double sided are almost always original unless it's hugely popular like the Spider-man 2 twin towers or a Dark Knight Joker.

Single sided can be original but there are no guarantees. International one sheets are normally single sided nowadays and the same image on the double sided is frequently shipped as a single sided as well.

If you drop him a note, he'd probably fix the situation for you. He's always been really helpful for me.

Like Dave said, DS are almost always original, but do occasionally get reprinted. Reprints are usual not exact in size though to the original.

SS before 1990 that are the correct size (usually 27x41) are likely to be original, especially if the have the NSS number on them or the "not allowed to be sold" warning on them. Single sided since then get trickier, but some are original for certain theater markets as well as some are for things like SDCC.

Can anyone that has a DS T2 poster give me the exact dimensions?

I was thinking that we need an online resource with exact specs on posters - size, various types that were released, etc. IMP is close but not complete for what a collector needs to know.
