Moving to LA, looking for affordable housing?

Where in the South Bay do you live?.. I consider the South Bay to be Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo Beach, but I may be limiting it to what it actually is.. I'm over in beautiful South Redondo Beach..

I'm just east of you in the Hawthorne, El Segundo area.

When I got divorced, I had to move quickly and found my place in Hawthorne. At first I thought it would be a 6 month gig as you hear Hawthorne is not that safe but where I am living it is real nice and the building I am in is great. So I just decided to stay and save my $$$ so I can then buy a place in El Segundo.

I am always in Hermosa running on the wood chip trail between Manhattan Beach and 190th and I take my kids to the park over there all the time too. Or I am in El Segundo at the Park on on the beach off of Main Street.

For me the South Bay is anything North of Gardena but South of LAX.

So if I may ask, what kind of work is it that your other half is going to be doing out here?

I've lived here for a few months and it's really cool. I live in the Westchester/ Playa del Rey area and I think it's pretty decent. I actually found my apartment and roommate on there (got really lucky) but I looked for a WHILE (several months). But just expect to do some homework for a while Good luck with the search!

I like the part of Hawthorne that is West of the 405 and east of Aviation.. They even have a fancy name for it, Holy Glen.. I'm a few blocks South of 190th, West of Prospect. Love it here, nice to see the Ocean from your street...

I know the area well. Right off of El Segundo they are building the 360 South Bay. It looks alright so far but I wonder how much more traffic it will generate...

Some sad yet happy news for everyone. We will not be moving to LA for the time being. That's the sad news as we really wanted to be able to get together with all of you Cali freaks.

Happy news is we do get to stay in Austin where we are most comfortable and happy.

I just wanted to let everyone know and if things change, I will be right back here.
