MT TLOU - New 1/6 scale figure from Master Team coming soon!

I've come to appreciate it more a few days after finishing it. It's silly the comments and bad reviews I see. The world of the game is brutal, the events were totally justified.

Head on over to r/thelastofus2. View the ?Hot? posts and read the comments. People have dissected all the shortcomings of the game.

Me personally, I?d give it a 6-7 out of 10.
That being said, it?s extremely disappointing in comparison to the first game and really does abandon everything that made the first game so amazing.

There's the broken Abby, still helping Lev. She's made her peace with Ellie, believing Ellie cut her down to save her. She therefore expects them to head to the boats together.

It's Ellie who now defies sympathy, by refusing to let go.

To me, TLOU2 is a personal journey as into the Heart of Darkness. Not everybody is going to feel it. It's something that will emerge through experience, of experiencing it for oneself, and discovering that you can identify with it. It cannot be told.

Joseph Conrad has long been my favourite author, and these concerns about personal experience and society are common throughout his works.

...it is impossible to convey the life-sensation of any given epoch of one's existence--that which makes its truth, its meaning--its subtle and penetrating essence. It is impossible. We live, as we dream-alone...

Because it is impossible to convey such deep personal experience to others, it is difficult to relate to those who have not felt a similar experience. Marlow, the narrator, is even more indignant about those who had not shared his journey:

They trespassed upon my thoughts. They were intruders whose knowledge of life was to me an irritating pretense, because I felt so sure they could not possibly know the things I knew. Their bearing, which was simply the bearing of commonplace individuals going about their business in the assurance of perfect safety, was offensive to me like the outrageous flauntings of folly in the face of a danger it is unable to comprehend. I had no particular desire to enlighten them, but I had some difficulty in restraining myself from laughing in their faces, so full of stupid importance.

Others may take an identical journey, and yet not share the same experience simply because each individual brings their own past and character with them. Not everyone will come to the same understanding.

Druckmann expressed this very point regarding the story for TLOU2. It was the story he wanted to tell, regardless of how divisive it would inevitably become.

I agree, I'm getting very strong vibes of Hearts of Darkness / Apocalypse Now playing from Seattle Downtown to running into the Seraphites (this is as far as I've gotten so far). I've been taking my time and trying to explore everything, except for maybe 5-6 people and some infected I've stealth-killed everyone, put in 24 hours so far. I'm amazed some folks have completed in that.

Just finished part 2... I?m completely and utterly blown away and emotionally destroyed. An absolute masterpiece! This game is on par with the first one. Didn?t think that would be possible.

Thanks for the insight. I'll wait, I just hope I don't lose the opportunity to pre-order any of them.

I would also like to grab Joel but I didn't like it overall and they should have sold only the Head Sculpt of the Clicker because the rest looks pretty lazy.

I have zero say on that matter. Master Team only posts on chinese forums and you'll only see updates when they decide to post them on those same forums.

Any updates on the Master Team Ellie sculpt rework? The CC Toys has amazing accessories but the first sculpt we saw looks very different from the official prototype picks they released. Her nose is sharper, her jaw is narrower, a much angrier expression too. She's looking more and more like the Master Toys one.



I must say I prefer the older pics on the CC one. I'm curious to see MTToys' angry face rework now.

I'm in the same boat. I'll give it another few days, I see Onesixthkit no longer has the cctoys version up for PO.

Clothing CCToys is way better, accessories looks to be a draw

I've heard Master Team plan on showing something this month, I have seen the new sculpt and it's much better than their first one in my opinion and has a stronger liekness than CCToys, at least for me. It's definitely worth waiting for and I'm sure once both brands ship these out there will be comparasions and stores will have extra stock to sell.

I for one have pre-ordered both the CCToys and MTToys versions. Accessories-wise the Master Toys comes with that slightly curved machete which I love and rifle looks much better but the CCToys one has the jacket. The CCToys seems to be reusing a lot of the accessories from their previous Part I releases and in most reviews I've seen they could all use a repaint. There are so many ways to display Ellie that I figured I'd have one version with the bow & arrow Seattle Day 2 style in just her shirt and angry face and one with the jacket, with either the rifle or a melee weapon Day 1 style and normal face.

At first the CCToys one seems like the better choice overall, better looking shoes/outfit and the bloody hands. But the new prototype sculpts made me question my decision and ended up POing both. I know Master Toys did a great job with their Geralt so I've a feeling they might surprise us, sculpt wise and accessories wise.

I'll put Joel in the middle on his gee-tar and that's that. Really hope we get an Ellie Santa barbara version as well, with the axe and silenced submachine gun, maybe a stun bomb and a left hand with the...y'all know.
