I'll probably buy one end of next year (if any are to be found) when I buy a house. For now - I'll make do with the Fine Molds Falcon.

I've been reading up on it and I'm told the Fine Molds one actually has 25% more detail - just much smaller in scale. And the engine detail can only be found on the Fine Molds model.

I'll post pics when I have it all done up.

,..i really doubt that,... the mr falcon is cast and copied from the original falcon,..,,,so it can't really get any more accurate than that,....,, i know a guy that worked for lucas during empire stikes back and he bought the mr falcon,.. and he said it's a perfect replica,.....in every detail,....and i trust his words,....

I didn't say one is more accurate than the other. I'm saying that the Fine Molds has more details - just from the fact that it's got the landing gears, boarding ramp, and engine details.

The ESB movie model that the Studio Scale is modelled after didn't have the necessity for the gears and ramp since it was used mostly for flight scenes. And details of the engine wasn't necessary cause you couldn't see it through the thruster effects.

The Fine Molds combines details from all the versions of the Falcon models (including the CGI version that shows for the first time the engine) - not just the ESB model.

So as far as being the more accurate version to the ESB movie model - the MR Falcon is accurate. No arguments there.

,,..i hear u,...the code 3 falcon have ramps too,..and even legs.,,.i have it,.. but it's horrible,... :monkey4

,...i would change the ramps and legs on my code 3 for better accuracy,.. anyday,....

would love to own something as screen accurate as the mr falcon,... maybe someday!

Yeah. Having a duplicate of the movie used Falcon is too cool.

There's a pic of the movie model in the Art of ESB book - pretty neat.

There's also a pic of a TINY Falcon - the size of a quarter - that's super detailed. LOL

BTW: It looks like the landing gear on the Fine Molds one is stationary (you can't retract it) - which is a bummer. But it looks awesome regardless.

In my experiences and observations of Master Replicas products, there is no such thing as a 100% screen accurate MR product. Many of them are idealized to some degree, just for the simple fact of making their product look good for customers to buy (we all know how horrible actual movie props are) but in this cosmetic process, MR loses certain details along the way. Also to mention, there are often times multiple versions of a screen used prop in which MR has to pick and choose which aspects of those individual copies do they want to represent on their final product.

,,..last year i spoke with a mr representative that showed me how and what they did with their falcon,,...they pretty much copied everything just like the original,....part by part,..,,,using originals molds and parts to make it as accurate as possible,..,,so in the falcon's case,...im pretty sure it's as screen accurate as one can get in a mass produced replica,....as i said,.. i know a guy that worked for lucas and said the mr falcon is a dead on replica,...

A friend off mine has one and posted some pictures on the collectiblez.nl board. And it looks so unbelievably cool!

MR has always taken a few small "liberties" with their replicas, but 99.9% of the population would never know the difference. It's only the hardcore prop enthusiasts can spot those types of things. Having said that, I think the Falcon is hands-down the most accurate piece they have produced to date.

And as soon as I win the lottery it SHALL be mine!:D

Congrats to those brave souls who dived in.
