I work for a company that makes "incentivized" ads - managing a group of designers. Our bonus is based on fulfilling a set quota of revenue. We get a set quarterly bonus of something like 4K. So if we hit 100% of our quota (technically - it's the Sales Group's quota, but we make the ads for them) - then I get the whole 4K. Hit 50% of the quota and get only 2k, etc.

The good part is - if I help them hit 150% of the revenue quota - I get the extra 2K on top of the standard 4K.

This past quarter - we hit 300+% of our quota :chew :chew :chew
Very nice. Thank you for the explanation...*runs to find a new job*

Must you continue to taunt us?:emperor

:lol

I think the lighting effect on the Enterprise blow the Falcon out of the water but for shear awe the Falcon is insane just because of the size and detail. It is one amazing piece of ABS plastic. ROFL

Nice! It's weird, but I didn't know anything about the Studio Scale line until a co-worker sent me a link (coincidentally - he's getting the Snowspeeder).

When I saw it - I literally fell in love with it.

I'm thinking I will probably either suspend it from the ceiling, or build a case for it that can double as my dining table (to save space).

But this puppy HAS to be on display. I don't care how geeky it makes me look. LOL

hell yes! Wanna really freak visitors out...put a price sticker next to it of how much you paid. Telling 'em what I pay for this stuff always makes the chicks at work pop an udder!

At the price, the Snowspeeder will be a must.

I got mine for really cheap. I got mine for lil over $300 shipped and was brand new drop shipped from MR:chew

They should make a Studio Scale Death Star (ANH and ROTJ versions).

I would buy them in a heart beat!

if I got 6k, i would get 2 mouses just in case one wears out when you're on a frenzy on eBay

can't wait to see the pics of this purchase tinister!

Don't forget to put the rest of that bonus in a high interest account....so you can buy more Sideshow/whatever during non-bonus time! :-D

Yeah, I jealous as well!!! I used to be really jealous of my brother's yearly bonus... he got a little less than 1/3 of his yearly salary as a year-end bonus if they hit all their numbers, which they did every year! It worked out to over 20K each year... of course, the IRS took most of it!!!

Thanks, lcummins -

This was my first quarterly bonus at this company. I'm told that the first quarter is usually not so lucritive - this year was unusual. And the 2nd and 3rd quarters may be a let down after such a windfall. And 4th quarter usually rocks.

And yes - the IRS takes a lot of it :(

Want to hear something funny?: when I got the check - I told myself; "You can buy one toy and put the rest in the bank.".

So like the rascal that I am - I chose the most expensive toy I could get. LOL - but it's still "one" item, right?

LOL. You guys won't believe what I just did.

After spending my day off asking around about having a custom display made up for the Studio Scale Falcon - I decided to cancel my order.

I've been mulling it around in my head for the last couple hours and just did the deed.

My main reasoning: It's just too dang big.

I realized it while out asking around about a custom display for it tonight.

Instead - I'm going to buy the Fine Mold's kit and make a go at building one.

And I'm also getting the Bandai 1/350 Space Battlship Yamato :)

Still fun - at a fraction of the cost.

I forgot to mention: One thing the Studio Scale Falcon didn't have that I really wanted were landing gears. That would have offered better display and casing options. The provided stand only allows for the ship to be displayed "floating" and at an angle - which is cool but means a taller clearance is needed for the display case.
