Well that's the problem, no one seems to want to come out in the open and actually state how much the heads actually cost. So there's all kinds of speculation and lies and it leads to what just happened in this thread. And that sucks. Why the secrecy!? Is it a matter of National Security? Jesus Christ riding on a dinosaur with rockets.

Strangely enough, I have a hunch who it could be. I don't have any proof so I'm not naming names or getting into the blame game. It's at least two people in the running I have a fair idea. I remember he use to talk about it from way back that they couldn't reveal the head yet when they were getting the billyb shirt and ties. Waiting on it for sometime while it was headless. It's came up in this forum in one of the threads from way back multiple times.

I could be wrong but it's the only person(s) I know that was getting it first on this board.

I remember this. But depending on price paid, I personally wouldn't brandish my pitchfork. If it took said person some monetary arm twisting to convince the customizer to let it go, I'd want everyone else to go through the same hassle. The higher the amount paid though, the more illumination is shed on how much of a factor of 'I want this to be really exclusive and price out other collectors' comes into play though. If it's around 300, that's expensive but I wouldn't say it was a shady deal made to slight the collecting community - It was what it took to get the customizer to let go of his work.

Yeah, I'm not looking to get any knives out for them personally but it is the only person I can think of that was in the running to first get a hold of one.

I certainly wouldn't pay $300 for it. Heck I certainly wouldn't pay $300 for a mass produced Hot Toys figure with the whole shebang. It's bad enough paying just over $400 for a huge 29 inch 1/6 vehicle let alone a little head and it's not even PERS.

That Joker sculpt is awesome, I've loved it since the first time that I saw it. I think it captures Heath Ledger perfectly.

Hey Blakus how you doing matey, i am going to be getting an Adam sculpt actually like yours i love it so much! Might need you to do some mods to my joker clothes etc if that is something you would be ok with buddy?

Thanks dude, you'll definately love the work. Yep, i have been taking commissions myself for all the clothes mods. Not jacket liners yet, as i haven't done my good one yet, but shouldn't be too far away. Cheers

Btw guys, man, 2 more pages, still going? I think it's time we gave that a rest lol! I don't even see the need for people to worry over price. They havn't paid anything, and don't need to worry about how much myself or others paid. I mean, why would you need to know haha! If you genuinely have the oppurtunity to get one made, and want to know the price ( which, Adam would tell you himself anyway) just pm me and ask. Also, keep in mind, i didn't buy this directly from Adam. I didn't pay for the commission work, i paid for the piece. I think it's wrong to speculate and throw prices around about how much Adam personally charges. Who cares! That's between him and his customer at the time. We don't do the same with all the other customisers and repainters on the board. If you want to know, you just pm them directly and ask/work something out.

someone finally convinced Adam to commission the laughing sculpt. Adam was never going to make it available and just keep it for himself, so I was told.

that person has switched his collection to another focus, so has sold off a lot.

blakus and I ended up in a bidding war for this head, (which was someone else's commission). He won and it was expensive.

the original person suggested I take over his commission of the laughing sculpt which I was more than happy to do.

It is expensive. I did not decide the price, nor could I negotiate it as I was just taking over someone else'e previous arrangement. It is so expensive, that I wanted to make sure if I was paying such a premium it would not be sold for less in the future. NOT because I have a problem with as many people as possible enjoying this sculpt, but I did not want to pay a packet and see it sold for, say, $100 a week later, with me spending money needlessly. (which some of you seem to have a massive problem with, which I honestly don't get: I am just trying to protect my investment)

see this doesn't seem malicious to me at all. i totally see where snake is coming from - if he paid a certain amount for something it just seems naturally unfair if other people get it for a vastly lower amount. especially since SE had no part in the price setting. ok to put pitchforks away yet?

just out of interest, does adam do each sculpt from scratch? it seems with all the commissions, he doesn't make casts, but actually sculpts each copy.

Snake is right, i've seen what he's "afraid" of one time, where the comissioner (good evening coooomissionerr) payed about 200$ for the head, which later ended up being sold for about 50$.

And about the price of this head, i'm pretty sure it was in the area of 300$.
