So. I did watch. It's a perfectly fine show for little girls.

It's not for me. And I just don't get what you guys see in it. It doesn't entertain me as a male, and all that friendship **** is just...well...like Darkbooty (that's who he will always be to me) said "Ugh..UGH."

I like my cartoons, but if i'm going to watch cartoons, to give me something I like in my range of interests. Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, and Regular Show are not made for kids, but rather, kids in mind. They are kids shows, but the writers created this program for everyone. They included many adult references, and yadada yada whatever, but more importantly, their stories, for the most part, are fairly mature, and have an edge on them that a child may or may not get. Gravity Falls is a pro at this, allowing for some very unique takes on relationships, and finding one's self, without being too melodramatic.

With MLP, I just don't see the adult humor. Other then that Star Wars parody I guess....but it's been done before. Or anything that works for me as an adult. They want to be friends and they're not powerful without friends. Alright...and the bad guy just makes things craaaazy. I would've liked it more if the dude murdered the little ponies. That's more up my ally. :lol.

And I REALLY don't understand the clopper thing. That **** is gross.

Just tell her not to look up Ponies on the internet. For god's sake, DO NOT LET HER DO SUCH A THING. In fact, forbid her from going on the internet to look up anything related to MLP.

She might stumble upon this.

I have decided to not click the above link, there are some horrors that should be left out of my mind.

It's a pony sex toy. Seriously, I'm not making a joke here, just tell your daughter to stay away from the internet when it comes to these things. Also, don't wear pony shirts in public. They will come to her and discuss their love for the show with her...

Ha Ha! because nothings more stimulating than shoving a unicorn up your **************. :horror

Luckily, since she is 5, any random real world encounter would have to get through me, and my wife tells me I can look very intimidating, given my height and size. I don't see it personally, but I'll take her word for it.

For the time being my daughter's sole experience with the on-line world is through iPhone and iPad games.

Edit for video addition... Wow, is that guy for real? Now I know why our local McDonalds were all sold out of the MLP toys my daughter deperately wanted last year.

Hey, takes all kinds. that's no different from the doofuses who collect hot toys figures, then buy a real doll and dress it up as Scarjo.

creepers gonna creep.

At least they don't have conventions for it and try to play it off as normal.

I'm cool with people enjoying any show they want but when it's a little girl's show and gets beyond just watching it becomes creepy. Disguise it all you want, but it's creepy.

Why is it all the people that don't like this show are the ones posting weirdo crap like this here? I don't get how they're the ones that know about it. I've watched seasons 1 and 2 here and there just because and that's the extent of my knowledge of the show.

I didn't click any of the NSFW links but I've read enough to find them disgusting. But this is just... Creepy. Is that for real or a parody? Regardless I don't want to be associated with weirdos. I'm changing my avatar.

soo.. wait... i'm a little lost here.

Are you saying that cons like SDCC and joecon, and 1/6thstravaganza, and the action figure show don't exist?

or are you saying that the Sex toy industry conventions, and adult film indusrty conventions, and Real doll conventions don't exist?

Becuase either way, i assure you, you're wrong.

My original point was this.

ALL FANDOM'S HAVE CREEPY DEVIANTS, and those creepy deviants do not represent the whole of the fandom.

Attributing the item in his link to Everyone who likes MLP that isn't a 10 year old girl, is the same as atributing my analogy to EVERYONE on this forum.

We be weirdos here.

At least, that's how the Muggles view every one on this board who buys and then plays with ( or collects) 200$+ dollies.

It's probably true that every group has it's weirdos. But, few start off as weird as this one. I'd bet the reaction a grown man gets for owning shelf of 1/6 Dark Knight figures is quite different from the reaction the same grown man would get for a shelf of ponies.

There's just less inherent weirdness in most men's juvenile pastimes than in this one.

It's more the inherent sociological norms pressed by 1950-1980's judeo-christian value systems that make it feel odd.

We've been raised in a society that teaches
" Boys like guns, comics, cars, and related"
" Girls like dolls, cooking, domestics, and related"
So parents fall into the trap of caitering to this with thier children, becuase they've been "trained to think" ( or brainwashed, if you prefer) that not adhering to this promotes homosexuality, and/or other deviancy.

When I opened my mind to the idea that as an adult, I can still enjoy the things I enjoyed as a child, that "being a grownup" is an imaginary concept, All sorts of possabilites opened themselves up. I was raised in a family that DID adhere to that belief system, BUT at the same time, my Father, Mother, AND grandmother worked in education, and trianed me to think for myself, find my own answers, and reject what society considers normal, JUST becuase people say so.

Think for yourself, and don't apply the Sociological concept of " normal" to it, becuase much like Airport Security, it's an imagined thing.

TL;DR It's weird to you, becuase you've been raised to think its weird. You've become trapped by that way of thinking becuase of peer pressure.

If you enjoy something, and your enjoyment dosn't Hurt another living thing then enjoy it, and share it with others, if possible.

if it DOES cause harm to others, seek psychological help.

I think if a woman comes in your house and sees either Batman dolls or Ponys on display then she'd probably be freaked out a little. They would both require a small conversation about your fandom.

I guess I should have clarified. Sexually perverted weirdos. Drooling over Slave Leia is one thing (because ya know, she's a living breathing human) but creating these sexy images of ponies is weird on a whole other level than collecting $200 action figures.

I'm not judging anyone who watches this show or likes this show or owns collectibles from this show. I am however uncomfortable with the sexual perversion that is being posted here and don't want to be thought to be a part of it. I just like the bright colors, zany humor, and solid morals taught in the show. I will eventually watch season 3 and I won't be getting rid of the McDonald's toys on my desk at school.

While I agree with this, I do think I have less people raising an eyebrow at my Star Wars/Batman figures than the Build-A-Bear Pinkie Pie I received as a birthday gift. That said, I don't plan on stashing either in a closet when I have company.

(1) The wife has never even raised an eyebrow at a few 1/6 figures. Neither has anybody else. Perfectly reasonable man-cave decorations. Most guys seem to think they're rather awesome.

(2) Even if she did, I suspect the Batman conversation would be somewhat different from the pony conversation. There is a difference between "What's with the toys?", and "What's with the girl's toys?" It'd be much more difficult to explain interest in a franchise that even my 9yo daughter has mostly outgrown.

For the most part, I avoid "fandoms".

You should bring your avatar back.

No ones judging you, and **** them if they do! ;)

Agreed! What's the difference between liking My Little Pony and liking superheroes in skintight uniforms or half naked barbarians?

I explain my few vinyl MLP figures the same as my He-man and Star Wars figures. Heck, I think the MLP figures make for a better story. :)

I just like what i like, and to hell with what anyone thinks.

Amusingly, i don't have ANY pony stuff personaly.

Granted, I don't NEED to, as my wife has been into it since she was a little girl, and has TONS. :lol

I had no interest in My Little Pony, nor did I want to...then I heard about these Bronies....yikes That's my knowledge of the show.
