Personally I don't understand why people don't like the nameplate on Lurtz. But let's have a poll!

I think the Lurtz nameplate is one of the best I've seen because it fits well with the base and doesn't stand out.

I think "hate the nameplate" is a little rough... It's nearly impossible to "hate" anything that SS makes. I just "kinda dislike" it.
However, not enough for me to NOT buy it. The more I look at this statue the more I love it.
New poll???? just kidding ;)

I normally don't care for nameplates as others. But this one does fit the piece nicely and is subdued. What would be great is if the plate could be made optional/removable. Then think everyone would be happy. :peace

GOOD poll.

I'm firmly in the no name plate camp, they are just... I don't know, unecessary, for LOTR. (see: weta LOTR line) But it's weird, I don't mind it on some things- Weta's Kong pieces all say "KONG", but I suppose that's more of a logo than a name plate.

They could be very repetitious after a while. When you're looking at your collection of "Gimli", "Lurtz", "Boromir" and so on...

Sideshow could probably save a lot of time and effort without em as well.

That said, the name plate on Lurtz looks as good as you could hope for, for a nameplate. It just feels redundant.

I voted for the third option, "I don't care..."

It would look really silly if Lurtz was the only PF LOTR piece with a nameplate.

Kinda reminds me, vaguely, of DM's nameplate on their sculpts. But not enough to stop me from worshipping Lurtz. Keep it SSC, but do it for all the rest, please.

:peace

Hmmm Im mixed the Lurtz name plate doesnt bother me (I really hate name plates!) but I just dont know if the rest of the PF's name plates I would feel the same.

It would be cool if you could display it with or without.

I don't think it's necessary, and is a distraction. I would vote drop them, and offer the chance to buy a replacement plain Lurtz base at a nominal fee. This will never happen though.

As with others, it's not ruining the deal for me, but I do dislike it. :peace

I like nameplates for statues that aren't going to be part of a huge line. For example, I think the "Predator" nameplate is good, since there will possibly be just one piece from that line.

It just feels weird to have "Gandalf", "Aragorn", etc. when there are so many of them.

I prefer nameplates the way that Cinemaquette and MR do them. They are metal and look professional.

I like it, is better so the persons that see your collection and forgott the movie can remeber the name of the guy and dont ask you "eehhmm which is the name of this character?"

I use Topps Autograph Cards and Decipher Foil Character cards to display with the SSW statues so people know who they are and besides it looks cool. I just think the name plate is a little cheesy and not needed.

My thing is I dont think the bases are going to be the same Lurtz's base is very Isengard looking. I just cant see the Hobbits on the same style base but then again I could be wrong.
