It's like a half of a Travolta jaw line

One eye bigger than the other, it could almost be...

I also cancelled my preorder for Drake. I won't be preordering anymore Sideshow figures from now on! The in hand head looks nothing like the prototype I saw at SDCC last year. I really wish we could have had this one!

If it looked like that, I would buy it immediately.

Definitely a problem with the left side of Drake's face. Here's a mirror image of the right side. Better than what the final product is, but looks more like Seth Rogan than Drake.

Thanks,

Yeah, that's the part that's obivious. It looks like they took his sculpt and really misjuded where to separate the hair line, and honestly I don't think having the separate hairline is a good idea. I'm sure it makes paint easier (no slop on the head) but it gives it an hard transition and in this case it looks like they beefed up the sideburns and hairline which doesn't translate well.

So was the hdyroshrink thing just a theory of your own, that's more of what I was trying to figure out as I'm guessing they just altered the sculpt and some distortions happened in that process.

I was always planning to wait for in hand pics before ordering this figure cause I know Sideshows QC can be quite ******... glad I waited but pretty bummed that it doesn't look like I'll be adding a 1/6 Drake to my collection.

The PF is glorious though so I can find some solace in that :lol

Damn, when I first saw that last year I could have sworn it was a Hot Toys figure.

It seems even more strange because it looks like the prototype has the same separate eyes technique. They did it well for the proto, so why would they need to go through all those hijinks of recasting and enlarging and then shrinking in order to manufacture them en masse?

Absolutely. That proto is NOT the figure that is shipping right now. I was so bummed when this went to waitlist and I missed out on the PO. I was hoping to grab this around the release time. I'm glad that fell thru now. Because my PO would be cancelled.

I was off and on too, but I f'n canceled. Sticking with customs, nothing beats a custom figure done right.

Well I guess I'm not going to eat the $10 shipping cost I'll just by 3 big macs and have my own life size fat jaw. Thanks Chockles for the pics. Just hoping Snake won't have the same fate.
