Time for a reality check...

With the exception of NYNosferatu and myself, everyone else is in fanboy mode and oblivious to their own team's potential vulnerabilities.

Funny thing is, Im not looking forward to playing OKC or DEN in the 2nd round, I would MUCH rather face Dallas. I just know if they were to let LA snatch HCA from them, it would be in the back of their minds all through out rounds 1 and 2 that they CHOKED and LA is waiting, salavating. Sports is 90% mental right? This would be an excellent example here of losing before the battle begins...

Trust me for our team's mental health, we NEED HCA. Spurs are so frickin' intimidated by the Lakers that they need HCA to have a shot to beat LA. Lakers can live with out it, we desperately need it. It would be different if SA/LA were neck and neck through out the season. But if SA were to CHOKE away HCA, it would destroy them mentally. Its the context of it all.

No defense by the Spurs have me worried against the run and gun Suns..if the Spurs cant stop the Suns from scoring, expect another loss for the Spurs no matter how many points we score...

Rose is gonna go off on us. We have no single answer for him. I imagine theyre going to let him score a bunch of points while (hopefully) shutting everyone else down. Should be a fun game.

Spurs squeek out another one tonight to a bottom feeder. And once again a big goes off on 'em.

If theres one glaring weakness this team has is they have no answers for talented bigs. All their losses is when they cant stop the opposing team's F/C.

This is why teams like the Lakers scare me in the playoffs because they can throw big after big at 'em and Spurs dont have an answer. If/when they lose in the playoffs, this will be their downfall. I hope they can shore up that frontline with a solid big man before the trade deadline....

This is really an ignorant and uninformed post. Many of the Spurs fans have been doggedly criticizing the Spurs all season. The only idiot that has come here and proclaimed their team as 2011 champion is Wake. Everyone else has waited with baited breath for the playoffs to start.

With that being said, my predictions from last month continue on track. The East is ripe for the stealing; the road to the Western Conf championship leads through L.A.

Wrong again. WC championship goes through San Antonio since SA has HCA throughout the WEST.

Yup, I can only think of a couple that feel their teams are the only ones with a chance to win the whole thing. The rest of us know our teams can but also know the teams aren't perfect. I know Chicago is young but not as young as some want to think, I know we need even stronger production out of Deng and Boozer, and know our team will need to be even tougher come playoff time. All that being said I do think my team has as good a chance as anyone to win the whole damn thing.

Now that is a set in stone who has HCA. I think that's going to be a dogfight if our teams meet. SA is a SOB at home. Something tells me we're going to have to win two there to make it to the Finals.

Was reading a Bill Simmons column yesterday and Simons had a great line...he called D'Antoni the Mike Martz of the NBA. Perfect analogy.

Yeah, he CAN be. But I've read the Big Book of Basketball from cover to cover and he really doesn't come off as such a Beantown douche.

At times, he even admits his bias.

Regardless, the man is an intelligent journalist that actually has a degree in English and knows how to write; which is something that is usually sorely missing from ESPN writers.

Regardless of the standings, The Lakers are the defending world champions so barring some catastrophic injury, the road to this year's Finals goes through them.

Its been at the top of this section virtually since October. No, I don't think you're a bandwagon fan just find it humorous that you wait to start posting until the playoffs. Then come in and tell us how we've been talking about our teams all season. As JStep pointed out he and the rest of us have all talked about whats good and bad about our teams.
