Nothing wrong with talking about past championships, just because it happened before this year doesn't make it any less valid, in some cases depending on who played that year more valid. I don't care if Duncan ever makes it out of the first round, he's still a 4 time champion and that will never change.

as a cowboys fan i agree 100% :D

As I mentioned in this thread at the end of the regular season (and Kerr also mentioned last night), the Lakers just plain look tired. They've played more games than anyone else in the league over the past 4 years and I think that it has caught up to them.

The Lakers have other problems though and Artest being Artest was not something they needed right now, but that's what happens when you have a guy like him on your team (I still believe we should have kept Ariza but that's neither here nor there now). I would like to say that Pau is playing like a girl but that would actually indicate that he's playing..........
:exactly:
The only person that still has the desire and hunger seems to be Kobe. Everyone else is too old or tired or just sick of playing at this point.

The german can't be stopped and the lakers are too old and tired to be chasing Barea all over the court.

In fairness, though, last night was a very weird game. The Lakers missed something like 18 straight 3 pointers, and were missing layups, dunks, and free throws all through the game, and were still down by less than 10 at some points in the 4th quarter!

Being down 2 to nothing and losing both of those at home is gonna be tough to overcome. That is compounded by teammates starting to play the blame game, etc. But, they're still an pretty deep, talented team (old and tired or no), and have a shot IMO. I hope the Mavs win, but the reputation for the Lakers is to close and the rep for the Mavs is to choke, so this could be the perfect set-up for another thrilling comeback for the Lakers and disappointing let-down for the Mavs that wouldn't surprise me one bit. :lol

Yeah, how often are you going to see that. I mean it was like in Game 1 of the Bulls vs Hawks Joe Johnson goes for 34 (double his season avg) and 5/5 from 3 and the team shoots 50% plus from 3. On nights like that its damn near impossible to win.

Thats why for the Lakers losing game 1 sucks even more they had a lead in that one.

out of rythem, sometimes the road cures that. This team can just as easitly win the next two and everyone will be talking how great we are.. Its all about what have you done for me lately. With that said, man up Pau...

And yes Josh, that game one was a tough one. Might be our doom in the long run.

Yeah, sometimes getting away is a good thing. It allows you to just focus on the task at hand. I agree I think they can and will win both away and even this up. Gasol needs to step up and play better for sure.

Thats what I worry about with Chicago losing game 1. Now, they're playing catch up I feel like.

I think Gasol must be injured.

Thats something to think about. I know Boozer has been banged up for several weeks with a really messed up ankle and now turf toe. In other words he cant jump for ____ and is slower than usual :)lol) Thats why guys like Kobe and Rose playing banged up is pretty cool to watch.

From what I am hearing through the la media, pau's girlfriend dumped him before the playoffs and he's depressed. Whatever..

Over a chick? In LA? You must be joking. One call from Kobe and he can have his pick. :lol

That is really no excuse. Pao's problem is Chandler is out-muscling him, blocking his shots and eating him up under the boards. That is the difference in the series right now. Lakers have major paint advantage and aren't taking advantage of it. That and their bench is underperforming. We'll see what happens tomorrow night, but I think Dallas has their number, defensively.

These older established teams in the NBA and NHL are getting cleaned out by younger aggressive teams this year. It's not limited to the Lakers.

the mavs are pretty damn old

Yeah, but they haven't logged nearly as many grueling post season games as the Lakers, Celts or Spurs the last 5-7 years.

And have no rings to show for it. Have they even made it to the finals recently?

Anyway, no rings, no comparison. :D

:exactly: I like this guy!

Dont you understand Nash's logic by now? Ill give you a synopsis of what Ive learned:

Nash logic 101:

A) Losing in playoffs means you automatically forfeit any satisfaction of past accomplishments and you are not allowed to talk about past accomplishments

B) Missing playoffs is a greater accomplishment than losing in playoffs

C) Suns > your team no matter what...no real reason why, they just are

D) Playing high school basketball automatically makes you an expert on professional basketball

I think that about sums it up :lol :rolleyes2

:lol :goodpost: :hi5:

I really don't want to get in the middle of this but I find odd that you seem anything prior then this year should never be talked. The Spurs won 4 championships(in recent memory,I'm not talking the 80's or even 70's here), it's as valid as a statement today as it was last year. Did the Spurs lose to an 8th seed this year? Yep, but I wouldn't say embarrassed per se. None of the guys were blow outs, and it wasn't a sweep, and the Grizzlies aren't even a bad team. Don't get me wrong it sucks and as a Spurs fan I'm pretty disappointed.

Let's Go Bulls!!!
