Yeah, now we can't say that we don't like something 'cause we're Laker fans.so i guess the lesson that i have learned here is if you're a Lakers fan you are not allow to say that you don't like something from another team or another player because Kobe Bryant is on "my" team.
Now that i know this i will just stick to talking about the game itself.
The exact same thing can be said about Kobe haters. Fact.Ok, but to play devil's advocate, if "the king" was a Laker, you all would be praising his nickname. the only reason why you are hating on him now is because he is your opposition.

I don't hate LBJ, nor did I ever say I did. I just said the same thing we've been talking about, that I didn't feel the anointment as 'King' was deserved. Just because we've been discussing his not shaking hands and the tape thing and saying that I don't think it's cool makes me a 'hater'. Funny.

It has nothing to do with Lebron not shaking hands or whatever. Tell me honestly that if Lebron "THE KING" was a Laker, you would have a problem with his nickname and be vocal about it like you are now.
I think you would be praising the king and the nickname even if he didnt 'earn' it as you say.

No, I hate nicknames, I thought it was stupid when Shaq would give himself a new one every week. This isn't wrestling, this is basketball. I'll tell you right now that I don't like tha fact that Kobe has the nickname 'Mamba'. Their skills on the court are enough that they don't need some dumb moniker. Just be Kobe (Not Mamba) Bryant, LeBron (Not King) James, Dwight (Not Superman) Howard.
Nothing is wrong with not liking his nickname, but what is funny is that like i said, if Lebron was a laker and still didnt "earn" the title as king, Laker fans would still use the title to rub into everyone else's faces.
But since he is not a laker, you guys say he didnt earn it and it's BS he's nicknamed the king.
Please don't make me laugh by saying you would be giving him ^^^^ for the name if he had a yellow and purple jersey on.
Just like how laker fans were all over Shaq's nuts while he was bringing you championships, but once he was traded he all of a sudden became a joke. Same goes for Artest, now you guys all think he's the greatest but just a year or two ago he was a bat-^^^^ crazy loser.

No, thats not true for me. I don't like Kobe because of what I've seen of him over the years. He seems to be dying to be the next Jordan and he should know he will never be.
Ill come on now. You may not have said you don't hate Lebron but I think its fairly obvious you don't care for the guy. He was given the nickname back in high school if I'm correct. Its just something that stuck and Nike uses it to sell shoes. Really, I have to imagine most NBA fans could give a damn less what his nickname is.

What have you seen from him, that he cheated on his wife? Wow!
Has he ever said he was dying to be the next Jordan? Nobody will ever be the next Magic or Russell or Bird or Jordan, so it's dumb for anyone to say that. He is who he is and he's had a successful career, you just don't like him (for your own reasons) 'cause all there's ever been for you is Jordan, and anyone who ever comes close to his success is 'trying to be like him'.
His attitude on the court and with teammates. The fact that early on he was all about doing what was best for him. How about taking shots when he shouldn't have (air ball 3 against Utah early on). The fact that I think Phil might have called him basically uncoachable.
As far as cheating on his wife. That to me says more about someone that someone getting a nickname or not shaking hands.
He hasn't "said" it but come on you could tell by his actions early on with not making teammates better, being all about himself, etc. That he wants to be or wanted to be. He may have grown now and isn't as much like that but I would hope so as one gets older. I don't care for him for the reasons I've stated already. Jordan is my favorite player bar none. I will respect those talents of players who go out and bust ass. Kobe is a good player but he lacks a lot of the things IMO that made Jordan, Bird, Magic, and Russel my top players.

what's funy here is it's always "we hate Kobe because of how he used to be..." but he's not like that now - Jordan wasn't always the best teamate early in his career either but both he and Kobe grew up.
I have always been and will always be a Lakers fan but that doesn't mean i drink the kool-ade. I love basketball not just the Lakers. I didn't like Kobe for awhilke there either but he grew up and since i don't know if personally i'm not gonna hold a grudge against him.
By the way as far as artest is concerned the dude is still bat-^^^^^ crazy and i'm not excited that he's on the team, so no all us Lakers fans are not the same so quit trying to lump us all together - it's insulting.

Im not sure on everyone who is available, but I would like them to go after tyson chandler if they can. rumor has it that they could swap ben wallace for chandler if they wanted to. We dont need an offensive big man, just someone who can play some D and grab some re's.
