my heart's beating faster after just reading that! :lol

glad you're ok... but seeing as those mother____ers just drove off without even checking if you're ok, you should hunt them down wearing your dead man's shoes ;) i got hit by a speeding van on my moped once. bastard drove off. tore up my favourite jeans (and to a lesser extent, my favourite leg). not as scary as your encounter but it pisses me off that people can just drive off after something like that.

Jesus! That’s a close call, Hicks. :(

Had something pretty similar happen to me a couple years ago. I was out for a run on a local trail when I came to a crosswalk. A girl stopped for me to cross; she was driving a some small, compact car. She waved me on and I started to run. The street has some pretty big turnout lanes since it's pretty busy so I has a couple of steps to get moving faster, and I always run fast when someone has to stop for me as a way of saying thanks for being courteous. Anyway, as I'm in front of her car some guy in a Yukon fails to stop, he's on his cel, and rear ends her at least 35 mph, shooting her car into the cross walk. I jumped out of the way and, just like Hicks explained, I could feel the gust of air from all the movement of the vehicles that were now behind me. Her car was around 25 yards down the street before it came to a stop. The girl was crying because she was hurt and because she thought her car was going to kill me. It was pretty surreal to walk up to her car after and have her tell me how happy she was that I was okay while she was laying there in her car, the impact broke her seat so it was no longer sitting upright, crying.

Yeah man that was a close 1 its a good thing you had your wits about you :)

I nearly got had by a lioness (working at a wild animal park as a veterinary assistant) once everyone was out and me being last i done a rolling dive out of the door as the guys/girls started pulling it shut, she hit the door roaring and knocked me over again as she shoved me with the door.

The lioness came round far quicker than expected during work on her due to her condition as she was badly dehydrated and therfore the sedative she got wasn't enough as the vet was afraid she'd die.

I also saved someone from drowning once and the numpty grabbed my head and tried using me as a floating device lol. I slapped him spun him round and swam with him to a boat thankfully.

Glad you were unhurt; but a good reminder of how fleeting all of his can be.

And how ____ty some drivers/people are :lol

Thanks everyone. :lol

Glad your reflexes were up to it mate! Reminds me of this lucky bystander (yes, he was ok - I'm sure you know how he felt afterwards):

:horror:horror I did have a hard time getting to sleep that night , it really made me think just how easily everything can come to an end. One minute I was thinking about day to day stuff and the next minute finding it hard to believe I was still alive.

Which way did you move off the bench?

Left , it was hard to estimate which was the car was going to end up but luckily I think I chose the right way since the car was definitely further to the right of the bench.

:horror A lioness !. I get scared when my cat goes to scratch me. :monkey1:monkey2

Honestly... I'd probably panic and do the same. :rotfl Well done on saving him !.

Glad to Hear your Ok man, Near death experiences are Insane! I had one myself. So it was the second day of starting my brand new job and my hrs are from 3 to 12 so I didnt get off till midnight. It had been poring rain all day (which is never any good if you have a 45 min drive on the highway). Anyways, I came around a bend and just completely lost control, my tires had zero traction. All I could see was the side concrete wall that I was heading into. I honestly didnt think of anything at all except the fact that I was going to die in a few short seconds and I was hopeless to do anything about it. I hit the wall and the momentum was so great that it swung my car around to the other side smashing me into the wall twice. Something was on my side that day cause when I got out of my car,the only part of my car that wasn't touched was my drivers side door, everything else was completely destroyed. My car was gone and to this day, I still cant believe I survived that crash cause theirs no way I should of. Talk about Miracles! I wish I still had some pictures of my car, it was chilling to see how totaled it was and knowing I walked away with nothing more then a few bruises on my back.

Just heard a loud noise outside my room and sure enough, another accident. Two vehicle hit each other at the end of my block/corner. One vehicle got the bumper fallen off, anti-freeze fluid leaking, and air bag deployed. The other vehicle just got frontal damage. Everyone looks unharm. And this is a 25 mph zone.

Credit the "room to live" ideal of car manufacturers. Cars are now designed to dissipate the force of collisions around the body of the vehicle and away from the occupants. Doesnt work in a lot of cases, but it sounds like you got the full benefit! Good to hear!

After my Lung Transplant, during my recovery in the Intensive Care Unit, i had an attack of some kind, my vitals went down and they were trying to place an oxygen mask over me but i apparently kep batting it away, i don't rember it but i have always remembered a hallucination i had which i think is from that time.

My hallucination was set in a wide open green field in the sunlight i wasn't there but there was a soccer ball floating in mid air i felt like i couldn't breath and felt like i was choking and then a slit open in the ball and it started to turn inside out, it slowly turned inside out and when it reversed i felt a rush of air and could breath again.

Did you or do you happen to play soccer? I'm glad you're okay but this is sorta cool.
