Indeed we wish they would try to take on HT and make their more accurate Aliens and Preds in 1/6 scale but they won't. 1/4 scale is great if and only if you are specifically into that size and have the room for it. Its not going to turn people away from smaller higher end figures though.

I know neca is bragging that their figure is more accurate to hts but in reality ht realized one figure that can achieve all three headsculpts that neca has... One has to take into consideration that neca's preds are accurate mainly because they are sculpted to have no helmet fit on their head... Look at mcfarlane's attempt at making a 12" pred with a removal mask (I'm referring to scar pred)... That didn't go to well lol... So I consider ht still a winner :)

as has been pointed out several times before, the removable helmets have nothing to do with the inaccurate sculpts. it's the sculptor. HT aliens are terribly inaccurate and they don't wear helmets. Tsang sculpted those too and he can't be bothered to use adequate reference material. and we're always gonna get inaccurate manga/comicbook style aliens and preds from HT as long as Tsang is around.

I wish NECA and other manufacturers would make the same 1/6 figures HT is making. The competition would make US the winners.

Funny that Shai Hulud recently posted that he thought NECAs T1 sculpt looked cartoonish, and Voorhees27 had a similar opinion of the T2 sculpts. We've got NECA human figures giving people an impression of cartoon caricature (I don't agree) while on the other hand theres Hot Toys creatures coming across to others like they're manga/comicbook inspired instead of striving for realism and accuracy to the real source material.

For the most part we're getting that now though. Compare the Aliens, predators, Terminators and Batmans of today with what we had to make do with back in the 90s. I remember the days as a child of trying to find any figure that looked like it was based on the actual ___king source material! All you could get was capture claw Terminators and Marines with no likenesses and giant missile launcher arms. Toymakers did not have their thumb on my particular toybuying pulse.

Fair point.

When I find myself paying £200 for a brand new HT P1 though many years ago, I want 100% accuracy. Sorry for mentioning HT in this thread. Just an example to use.

Wishful thinking, but....

Maybe the masked version is not in those pics because it is still being worked on. *cough* lens *cough*. :pray:

I can't remember exactly what tankman said, but he said he brought one of them home and was able to fix it. Something about the guys who were last working on it didn't fully push the top of the bio down onto the bottom portion. I'm not sure. :dunno

$70 free shipping for any of the versions...probably one of the best deals out there also. I think I am gonna go ahead and preorder one from them
