So a version with a gap in the visor and a version that is correct.
I find this hard to believe. I mean, sure, you can have variations in paint/color because of the application process....but variations in sculpt? What the hell?!

It's one or the other.
If indeed there are two versions released and sold, I can just see the chaos ensue when some here get the gap on their visor while some do not.

:panic: :panic: :panic:

Eh, I find it incredibly hard to believe also, but it IS NECA.. Not some huge high-end company, so I guess it could happen? :dunno

I'd definitely prefer this over all of them having the gap.. Sure i'd be disappointed if I didn't get a correct one, but atleast I have a chance, ya know?

My thoughts exactly. Either way, maybe this means the secondary market value on one of the two versions will skyrocket :D. It'll be interesting to watch, from an economic point of view. Me, I'm not really sweating it, as even the unfixed helmet will be unique in that respect.

An example: ever notice how original music album sets or other first-release collectibles with typos can fetch a pretty penny? So technically, no matter what you get, it's guaranteed to be something with potential rarity...

...or maybe I'm just blowing smoke because I could honestly care less about the gap :lol. Many of those complaining justify it with the principle of the situation. But let's get real, folks. In the end, NECA's a company and things like this are probably not their biggest worry (hell, that's clear enough already). The real question that should be asked is -- if you're really truly hung up on NECA's behavior rather than the actual fact that there may be a gap, then where does collecting come into play? This isn't exactly a therapy circle, so moaning about something that's not likely to change and masking it with "right and wrong" won't accomplish much. I hate to say it, but if it isn't breaking up name-calling against other sculptors and instead it's the actions of a company as a whole, then really, what's going to change? It's not the first time a company's done this and it's definitely not the last.

(BTW, Centurion, that last paragraph wasn't directed at you, only the first half of my post was in response to your quote :peace)

We aren't really "b**ching", just discussing it.

@Prefused
I think I get what you're saying..

Like, NECA's is more sloppy, right? The details on the HT P1 are more..precise? I can see that in the spots'n stuff, I guess.. But I've always felt that the HT version's chest is too..bland.
I don't get that feeling when looking at that NECA pic, though.

Oh well, we'll know for sure when we are actually holding it..
it's more the colors and highlights that look really uneven in that pic. and i'm just making the point that NECA can't do what HT does paint and material wise. but i'm not gonna sweat the paint apps since that's easy to fix. NECA nailed the sculpt and that's all i care about.

I'm not bothered tbh if the visor gap doesn't get sorted. All we wanted was an answer. Now we have that answer the issue is the fact that there may be two variants of the masked Pred. They may aswell just stick to the one production piece so everyone gets the same.

:exactly:
I agree, when the gap was noticed I said before I Really didn't care about it that much, it didn't bother me, Tankman said he was going to fix it, so I thought, cool, the pred will be fixed,

now, that we might get variant versions, that does kinda suck, because not everyone is going to get the same, some will be fixed, some might not, I could see a backlash, if we were all getting it one way or the other I'm fine with that, is the consistency that I hope we get

I know exactly what you mean.
As long as there are correct ones out there we've got a chance at getting *cough* exchanging *cough* one of them. ;)

I think this is my main gripe but I'm over it now.:lol

This may stop people ordering online though as they won't want to risk getting the wrong version. Hopefully I find the right one at my shop. If there is indeed two versions.

The net made by Neca is too thick. The net made by Hot Toys is too wide. A middle ground would be perfect...

Sculpture and coloration of the predator's thorax of Neca seems better than HT...

Looks good enough for me. I wonder if the amour is detachable due to due netting above the chest strap

that's what all the customizers are asking. it would kinda have to be removable to get the netting on there. i wonder if somebody is gonna come up with some not-terrible replacement netting too.

don't think Randy has said anything about it on twitter/facebook either.

skepticism...
