NECA 1/4 scale predator

You guys have got to be kidding. I, that dude who sold off his NECA collection because nothing (not even the other 1/4's) impressed him paint-wise, actually think the new P2 head looks great. If that's a factory sample, then NECA deserves major props. My only gripe is... WHY THE HELL CAN'T THEY PAINT THE REST OF THE BODY THAT WAY? THEY ALREADY NAILED THE TOUGHEST PART!

The stripes on his arms, legs, and chest shouldn't look like blobs. They should look like triangles with funky inconsistent swirly edges, which is exactly what they did right on P2's cheek areas -- and those are much smaller and more intricate. Color me confused. If that P2 goes for $90-$100, you're getting a damn fine headsculpt with damn good paint. Which I honestly couldn't say until now.

Nobody has mentioned the paint at all. I think the paint is good.

I think the head looks off though. Its too big mouth/mandibled i think. Im not sure. The front on picture screams of Wolf predator roaring to me.

And im ticked off that we didnt get a relaxed mouth Predator because you can do more range of motion with them. With a roaring mouth theres only a select few poses his body can be in for the head to look like its making sense. And the ankles on the body would cave in before any of thoes poses could be made possible.

I think the roaring head 1:4 p1 looked great but i havent seen any pictures of the full figure with the roaring head on i can buy as a natural pose. They all look awkward. And so will this

To me the problem is with the lower mandibles; they look too big. I never liked them on the smaller version. It being bigger just exacerbates how big they are. Perhaps I'm not remembering P2 correctly.

I like it a lot. Yeah the mandibles are too big but he is close to being perfect. I think he looks amazing. He looks better than the masked version and I love the painting. He looks really good imo.

I guess the face is off, but Seriously people here are going to talk about that when Hot Toys has been given us unrecognizable predators for years now? kinda ironic....

It's the one that was actually in a movie, yep. The first one is more of a concept version as that bio was the original intended design for the OG predator.

I'll be getting Gaurdian myself (have Gort, but really only bought it for the skull & hand), will pass on unmasked P2 unless it comes with some cool different accessories I can use with the masked version.

Hmm... doing some thinking and it seems unlikely HT will ever tackle the Losties in 1/4. I guess I could buy whatever main Preds they do in that scale and get my Lost Hunters from NECA. I like what I see so far with Warrior and Guardian. Question is will they make all eight of them? And will Elder happen?

I have the same opinion, I have begged Randy from NECA to make it just closed mouth, but they still did open one. Oh well, but with the improved articulation I can probably do a good pose without looking awkward or inaccurate.

I like the headsculpt but a lot of people already said, the mandibles is probably too wide?.. which he did in the movie but not for long.

Anyways, I am a sucker for these guys so its still a buy for me.

NECA said they won't be making all the LOST Predators. They are just doing the ones with parts that they can recycle such as Warrior and Guardian since they all share the same armor. The only one left that would be easy to make is Scout. All the others require all new tooling which is too expensive.

They MAY make an Elder in 2013. That's the only one I want anyway.

I Know in Predator he does the iconic roar open arms scene and City Hunter doesn't do that in Predator 2, But I knew they would probably skip on closed mouth, Unless they do a battle damaged P2 and it close close mouth.

Battle damage is possible since its a huge scale, they have more freedom to do stuff on it. Somebody asked about Elder and Randy said he's on the list or under consideration.
So that's a good sign. I think they're going to do Elder last since he's very iconic and have the most accessories ever.

That would not be accurate at all.

In the movie, it was cut in the middle of the arm armor.

As expected they've upscaled that damn not-actually-in-the-movie unmasked P2 with no battle-damage. No interest.

I've put these on the backburner anyway but would have been holding out for the correct BD version.

And the 1:4 Losties? I see no point only having a few of them.

Just opened my masked 1/4 P2 a few days ago and the foot peg is broke on one foot... Went to bbts and checked they are sold out so I wont get any help there... Anyone else get a broke peg that may have a fix??? I tried the super glue it looked like it would hold but after a few hours of him standing he just took a dive...

IMO: That 1/4 Scale P2 unmasked still looks better then the Hot Toys head.

Try sending NECA an email. I had a 1/4 endo arrive missing one of his feet, and they sent me a replacement.
