anyway, does anybody have an idea for putting face quills on this? i'm gonna send mine to get customized and i don't think the HT quills are gonna cut it.

It's the internet. I don't see anything wrong with seeking validation before taking people at their word. I'm not going to apologize for not being on this forum "for years" either.

I voiced a valid set of concerns, and got a good response from the man.

I don't know about having the power, but I'm happy to have some commentary from you on your inspiration for the figures. It's interesting that China would have that much leverage over the pieces parts. You'd think they'd be particularly interested in serving the customer, NECA in this case.

It wasn't my intention to offend, unlike some others earlier. But, I think anyone here would not enjoy being taken for a ride either. So far, the pictures have spoken pretty well for the figure. The closed mouth factory shot, should that be what we'll get, is really exciting. Perhaps one day, you'll share some insider production pictures with us, once the cats out the bag.

Thanks and I can tell you we want this figure to be the best it can be. Hell I look at it and think I'd spend 200 bucks but I'm someone that spent 2000 on the CM. I think the 80 dollars will be the best money for the buck you find in action figures. I know you guys want pics and it's tough to wait but in time I think you be even more pumped over the piece than you are now. I can tell you China can be such a pain but that's part of it. The factory has done a good job on the joints and after two weeks now of paying with the figure it's only falling once and it was my fault. It's HEAVY but he'll stand and I hope production will be the same. If you're a big Predator fan I think you'll be way happy. I'm hoping we sell these out fast so the Elder will be next. I'd so love the elder and P2 large like this guy.

Avenger has a point, he hasn't been Around for as long as you or I have been and he hasn't seen other hints tankman said. And something avenger did that set him apart from the rest was that he didn't just bash, he did it in a tasteful manner and got a civil response, he was a civil, logical Person about the whole thing.

I'd so love that and just maybe it could happen. after all I thought this piece was all but a dream to be 19 inches. The Elder is so very cool and as a fan I'd love it 19inches. For now though P1 will have to do.

he's like the 3rd or 4th noobie to come in here and question tankman's credentials in the past couple months. it gets old. a little research and common sense can go just as far as civility. but you're right that he dropped it after he got an answer. i will too.

Now I've got P2 to get ready. He's looking really nice by the way and I hope fans will like what he ends up looking like. I'm think oh yeah he needs to be 1'4th too. One can dream and for me some dreams come true so we'll see.

Ohh man.....tankman....you had to go and make the P2...well....that is what I get for waiting..... I was trying to finish this guy up, but just not enough time.... or maybe there is......

Great to see tankman dishing out the replies. tankman made this great sculpt so of course he's going to be bigging it up. How would you feel if you had sculpted something as good as this; that you had been a huge fan of since 1987It's the Holy Grail!

Great to hear your responses tankman. I too sometimes felt that you would skip the more valid and interesting questions to simply talk about how great this figure is going to be. And invariably you would bring up Hot Toys and say it's so great and you have one yourself, and then always follow it up with a BUT. We understand how you feel about the Hot Toys figure. Maybe best to just leave it alone now?

It's great that your are really excited about this figure. It must have been a dream come true to be able to work on it. And the fact that you have been thinking/working on this for years, it must be amazing that it's all finally coming together. Must be hard that so many things are out of your hands (pics, production from China, etc...), considering it probably feels like your baby. Your sculpt is top notch. There is no denying that at all. And hearing that the sculpt is better than the two-up is phenomenal news. Let's hope the paint lives up to the beautiful sculpt of yours now...

Did I say HT sucks no. The net is what China will give us even if we go over it again and again. I been saving up Predator Ref since the 80ies and Shawn Nagle had a friend go to Stan's place and get really great pics way back in the 90ies. It's not in my power to take pics and put them on for now. Don't you want to wait and see them at Toy fair anyway? The net isn't dead on and I wish it were but I'll take this over it being sculpted on any day of the week. As a huge Predator fan I'm very happy with this guy and I've done many action figures over the years and this is my best figure I think. The goal was to do the Kevin Peter Hall Predator and I think this is the closest one so far. It would be nice to do one 1'6th and all but 1'4th was a must. HT has the 1'6th covered even though some wish it were more dead on. The net looks nice in hand and it would be great if it were dead on but still it looks real nice. It's been real tough to get the net where it is really. Seems like an easy thing but sometimes the easy things are a real pain in China A.

why or how does the china factory have say so over the netting?
neca has hired them , not china factory hired neca, and they decide what the netting looks like, i just don't understand this at all,
tankman please enlighten me how this can be.

is there a final confirmed size on this? last i heard was 19". which is definitely too small if this is supposed to be 1/4 scale.

well 19" is closer to 1/5 scale. unfortunately, my NECA Alien is 1/4 scale... there's the rub.

Oh. I'll be getting the Alien but mainly its human characters I'd worry about his scale next to. I wouldn't want him being barely any taller than an Arnie figure as is unfortunately the case with the HT P1. However I don't see myself buying any 1/4 human characters.
