Only space for these four would be on top of my wardrobe.

I have no doubt someone (probably ThreeZero) will make them in 1/6, but they will be at least $200 each and may not even have as good sculpts as these ones do.

I don't collect 1/4, but I am buying these Turtles. It's one of my oldest childhood favourites.

Good luck with that. I wouldn't wait too long though these will sell out quicker than you think...

Watched the film last weekend, caved and finally preordered Donatello today. I realize SOME of my feelings about it are purely because of nostalgia, but I think it's one of few movies from my childhood that really holds up well. It kind of blows my mind that it was an independent film, had such solid production value, good writing, and serviceable acting. It took the material seriously and didn't stray too far from the source. It took a HUGE, burgeoning KIDS property, didn't dumb it down too hard, and kept it dark. Huge nuts on these guys. And it paid off. Not only is the film a very, very solid early entry in comic book films, but all the circumstances surrounding it created an anomaly in the industry. Just a very cool film. I really hope NECA delivers on their production pieces. Crossing my fingers.

I agree with your sentiments about this film. I watched it a few months ago and I was blown away at the solid production of story-telling - without dumbing it down like you've mentioned - but also its emotional aspects. For some reason, you feel drawn in by Raph's outburst when Splinter was taken away, captivated at Leo and Raph's reconciling and moved by Splinter's message around the campfire. It was really well done for a movie about four talking turtles and a rat!

Having said that, it unfortunately didn't pay off at the time. Parents were taken aback by the ominous and dark feel of the movie and its use of weapons. The sequel was meant to appease the parents with its lighter feel and missing weapons.

The sequels made the the turtles look so stupid. In the second movie they looked weird and had big eyes and looked bland in comparison to the 1990 film. The third movie..... They just looked stupid and to much like frogs.
The dark feel of the 1990 movie can't be beat. No turtle movie has ever come close to it. Sad that we have the technology to make a great turtle movie but we decided to give it to Michael bay and now we are stuck with shrek hulk size turtles.

I so wish Netflix would be able to do a live action tmnt show. They would have time to do it right and have great storytelling. Would love to see them do the IDW story.

when i was a kid, i didn't have an easy access to these movies and couldn't spot what's the difference. but it's so obvious today. their appearances just completely lost any characters and became generic.

also this picture shows that those statues look like TMNT 2, as i suspected. that's what is so wrong with them.

I reckon I only ever saw the second film once, but I can't remember it at all. I know I never watched the third film.

I don't have any of the films, there is nowhere to buy DVDs or Blu-Rays except a commute away from me. I could only find Turtles II on youtube. Would love to see the first film again.

-edit- have just been sent a viable link, thanks MacReady

Yeah, there's a tad bit of that look in there. Especially Raph.

Still makes no sense why Raph has no scar or scratches on his Shell on the Prime1's or lack of spots... For the $$ they wnat for those statues they should be pretty much perfect.

I asked NECA on Facebook page on Donn's release and said October. I was hoping this month oh well only 2 more long months until we have them forever.

Absolutely. Makes me worried what the hell they have planned for their Berserk line.

I dont do statue's just too fragile and fear of break's and same pose's bug the hell out of me. This way i save funds n worrys if ever break and can always change up pose's.

cool thing about figures over the statues (beside the $$$ savings) is you can create your own scene i.e. diorama. I think the statue is really nice but id much rather invest in a more personalized display.

Yeah same boring display for statue's no thanks.

Yea I don't do statues anymore either. They take up to much space. They look nice but they aren't for me.
