Paying for likeness rights that were previously impossible to get and then not managing to capture it in the sculpts is a pity for sure - but 'better this than nothing' would be my attitude. I mean hey, if they don't think it's worth paying the other guys for their likenesses, give us generic headsculpts and release the other characters anyway. I'm talking about the more obscure marines, maybe even the Nostromo crew.

My Dad had a VHS copy of Deep Throat back when I was a kid. The problem was that the tape was ripped away from the reel. So when nobody was home and I wanted to “watch” a little porn I had to get out the little screwdriver, unscrew the VHS tape, getting masking tape, attach to reel, close and watch (for two three minutes). When done I had to open cassette, remove masking tape, close and place back in the “top shelf of may dad’s closet”!!
I know it might be to much info, but I thought I would share.

You kids don’t know how easy you have it now!!

Back to the action figure…….

:lol :lol :lol

Classic. The 'lengths' we go to.

Stumbling upon your dad's porn stash is a life-changing moment. :lecture

If there was one figure they HAD to nail perfectly it was Ripley....and they blew it, hard!

I was doing that thing where you can check the quantity they have 'in stock' by trying to put 100 of them into your cart and seeing what it is reduced to. What I didn't realise is that doing this also changed the quantity in my other tab, the one I was checking out in. :slap

Thing is, that trick no longer even works with BBTS. Even things that they will have hundreds of are still capped at 24. It used to be that you could get stock levels that way, but frankly they changed randomly even back then, so it wasn't a huge help.

The paint was always gonna **** it up anyway. In fact maybe that's what has happened here, even on these prototypes.
And the production figure will look even worse

Her head is so small inside the space suit, it looks ridiculous. The suit would collapse on that tiny body of hers based on her head size. All that detail, likeness rights, fan demand and then...:yuck:

Ripley will probably be like NECA's Rambo figures. The First Blood Part 1 figures had pretty average Stallone head-sculpts, but the recent First Blood Part 2 figure is dead on. Hopefully 86 Ripley will be better, after all that's the one I actually care about, to go in my future Power Loader.

man, maybe I'm the only one.. but these new Aliens figures look really great to me, even Ripley (likeness isn't perfect yes, but I can tell it's her and both figures look nice to me). lol maybe I just have lower standards because I grew up with 70's & 80's toys, but compare these to anything on the shelf in the same price range and I'm willing to bet the other stuff doesn't have near the level of detail that these do.

I'm definitely looking forward to getting the set!
