NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

Total minutia alert here but that line will bug me all night thanks to an unhealthy mania of some kind . Only Hudson carried it. By contrast 6 of the 9 ground pounding marines carried "scalemead survival" knives (more commonly found as the "explorer night raider" with the blackened blade) like Hicks had. 2 had no knife at all. Granted, the night raiders were less sexy and never featured, let alone used in an iconic scene, but the mk2 is still the 'oddball' used by only one guy so is hardly 'official'.

But I digress...I know your point. Sorry to interrupt!

Heh, that's ok! I forgot even the USCMC tech manual shows the Night Raider as the combat knife. I always thought that was kind of weird, out of the two knives, the Gerber Mk.2 always looked like the more robust knife the Marines would use regularly. Hudson knew what was up.

I always liked how in Aliens the Marines had a lot more leeway in their kit load out and personalization touches than our modern-day Marines (owing to the fact they are out in space and the Vietnam-era influence from Cameron).

Yeah... Despite his more memorable, over-the-top moments in the film, he does seem to be "the smart one" within the squad in some sense. He's the one who hacks the doors when they first drop off at Hadley's Hope, he digs into the computer mainframe at different intervals to retrieve critical information, he's the one who first deduces the existence of the Alien Queen, and like Hicks, he's one of the designated operators for the technically-complicated motion trackers. One almost gets the impression that he's actually a bit of a geek, and that his non-stop braggadocio is meant to keep the rest of the squad from picking on him.

Love my mark II, build quality isn't great - but it's awesome having Hudson's knife.

Yeah, both the Bishop and Kane figures had some tacky paint issues on them. The Bishop's was on the blue jumpsuit and the Kane's was on the bronze areas. The Bishop's is especially noticeable as very shiny areas on the jumpsuit. I let them sit out for a few days without touching them and the stickiness seems to have gone mostly away. The Bishop is still a bit shiny on some areas though...

I left mine out for a week and have a dusty house so it went away. It does seem like the neca always has something wrong . I still love the line

I just thought I'd share a few shots of my queen along with the dog alien, big chap, and warrior. I actually got it awhile ago so I don't know why it took me so long to make a post. I pre-ordered it for $26.99 from movie replicas direct and thankfully they honored the order. I'm glad to see that they did the same for others who got their orders in before they changed the price. In my opinion, the queen and the dog alien are the best alien figures NECA has done thus far and they are now the highlights of my collection. Now I definitely need to get the genocide two-pack, some marines, and maybe a few more Preds. I can't wait for the eggs & facehuggers, Ripley, and the power loader.

Awesome pics guys, NECA Aliens really are so great!

I'm up to 13 blue warriors to display with my queen and marines now, just gotta finish setting them up. Cant stop buying these blue Aliens! I think I'm gonna try and reach 20 so I can make a wall of them behind the queen with some attacking the marines from the sides (it that makes sense)

Anyone wanna trade loose brown, red, or black ones for any loose blues? I have plenty of all colors lol

I have about 10 mixed warriors, and 2 dogs and gigers. I need more marines . I was hoping for some cool stuff from Prometheus to mix up but the new movie is a wait for now

So far I have: 7 Brown Warriors, 4 Blue Warriors, 7 Black Warriors, 7 Red Warriors, 10 Giger Aliens, and 5 Dog Aliens. I'm gonna get a ton more Black Warriors when series 5 comes out.
