I'd like to see a husband surprise his wife with this :rotfl

Or a guy to his girl

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't the glowing effect in the film a result of Kane shining his flashlight directly into it? Not a natural glow. And yet every egg seems to want to glow...

Anyways. I'm in! I am...fairly obsessed with 1:1 scale stuff. I can use this. Even if I end up needing to repaint it, its hard to get a full sized egg affordably. I guess it will all come down to price on this thing.

Yeah that was always the impression I got. The glowing feature on the McFarlane eggs always seemed like a weird idea to me for that reason.

Ha. I was thinking exactly the same thing.
Yeah I dunno it just looks like a bit of a cheap piece. Maybe some customizing needed. And the led light just doesn't make sense. If they made it translucent and used the original egg design with the genitalia opening it would be better. Sculpt wise it's just not good looking.

...more pics and info from the Aliens egg and Facehugger:

"Transform any room into a deadly alien breeding ground with this Life Size #Xenomorph Egg — complete with its own eerie lighting and life size #facehugger!

As seen in the 1986 horror classic #Aliens, this full-sized replica stands almost 36” tall, and articulated flaps with a wire armature allow you to actually open the top folds of the egg. The included full-size facehugger has a bendable tail, so you can pose it anywhere… waiting to drop on unsuspecting prey from overhead, or simply lurking inside the egg.

The Life Size Xenomorph Egg is made of detailed, hand-painted foam and stands on its own. A switch activates the #LED lights inside the base to create a menacing, otherworldly glow effect. Requires 3 AAA batteries, not included. Starts shipping to retailers in March 2016!"

So apparently, only the tail of the Facehugger is bendable, no articulation on the legs.

A fun novelty item I guess but if I was going 1:1 (which I never will) I'd want something more high-end. I couldn't help but look into that egg and be woefully disappointed that, other than a rather simplistically painted facehugger, there's nothing in it and you can see a lightbulb at the bottom!

I guess that's my problem with larger scale NECA stuff generally, well moreso when I'm looking at human figures - the paintjobs are still very much low-end.

I want the 1:1 Facehugger for sure! I have a half scale Hugger climbing the wall that I would happily replace with this.

I am not a fan of the egg though. It looks like a blown up version of their pop up Hugger. I get they want to be able to open and close the egg but they should have gone with a life size version of the open egg from the six pack.

Yeah, that life size egg is neat, but not something I have room for. Plus I don't own any of their previous foam/rubber life-size props, so I'm not sure how well the foam would hold up over time.

I've had some foam/rubber figures and DVD cases before, and they deteriorated pretty quickly on me. My Evil Dead Necronomicon case is like 70% decayed from just sitting on a shelf.

UK Update.
Alien eggs and Kenner Tribute Alien Vs Predator 2-Pack will be hitting shops and online retailers next week.
